Hmmm. . . .anybody interested in some focused mining?

Zpool only pays out when it finds a block.  If we reduce the number of algos we mine, that should increase the percentage of blocks found by zpool, which means more return for us.

My three favourite algos (for nvidia) at the moment are Skein, X17 and Lyre2RE2.  If anyone wants to join me and focus on these (or has a better option), we could try it for a couple days and see if it makes a difference.  Obviously people have differing opinions, so mine what you want.

Just a thought.

.earl

I am going to put all my NVidia machines on X17, Neoscrypt, Tribus,  and Xevan only  for a few days and see how  it goes =)
Sounds good.  I've moved mine to only those algos too.  If anyone else cares to join this experiment, feel free.

.earl

Hello gents, like what are you moving to. Splendid idea to exclude the useless algos, but it should be worked out.
Curious, what inteval (in sec) would you use in your test?

Mine are all on 180-seconds.

The 13 units on m7m I have the GPUs doing ITNS (Intense Coin) & are mostly AMD cards.

But I have 36 machines on the 4 algos discussed above -- 117 GPUs.

Do skein too!

And try HashRefinery and Ahashpool. Worth it. Wink

Initial results are promising. Even with BTC going way up overnight my profit per hour (measured in BTC) is actually higher than it was before switching to 4 algos.

Of course it needs more time to really confirm =)

It is neat, though, a few times I have been ~40-50% of the total pool Xevan hash-rate, haha.

I have not messed with multi-pool at all yet -- just multi-algo.

May need to look into it.

This payment block (that was 0.0015 per hour) finished up at 0.0014 per hour. I will consider the idea verified if it lasts for a few days.

what 117 GPUS do you have sundownz?  1070's or 1080 ti's ?

Best Regards
Nemo

Mixture of 1060, 1070, 1070Ti, 1080, and one 1080Ti (in my home office computer).

what do you find to be the most efficient ? i have 1060, 1070 and 1080ti (buying 1070ti to test this week)

i find the 1070 to be the most efficient on most algo's apart from skein where 1080ti dominates

I'm putting 1 1080ti and 4 1060s(goddamn risers) for 2-3 days on zpool, let's see how this goes. If they earn more than 0.0015 BTC daily it's very good for the time it requires to set up.

Curious, what inteval (in sec) would you use in your test?

Lets take a look at the default intervals from the usual suspects and be utterly confused:

MPH-60
Sniffdog-90
Nemos-120
fork of Sniffdog by Hashrefinery- 300
Megaminer-600

Maybe one should take into consideration the total hashrate of the rig when setting the intensity?
So a person with a single 1070 in his gaming computer should set it to 600 and a person with a 6X1070 rig should set it to 120?

BTW, I am at hashrefinery ATM doing xevan, neoscrypt and skein since they seem to be best earners according to "24h actual" thingie.
I do not recommend X17  since Verge is getting too many orphaned blocks.
Some people are complaining about MobileCash (Lyra2v2) on Zpool, calling it a shitcoin.
Somebody please enlighten me because I thought that 90% of zpool coins fall into that category Smiley

Are coins with fast block times better for multi-algo mining?
Also, if you mine on only one pool(zpool, mph, hash) would it help to find blocks faster if that pool has a big % of the hashrate for that coin? This would be very good since you spend a limited amount of time on each algo.
I'm using interval 180 right now.

The 1070Ti seems to be pretty fantastic for efficiency from what I have seen. Just so hard to find them at a good price... so I have ended up with a large number of 1060s that I got for under $200 each.

I think the difference is bigger for you in your country.

I find 1070 Ti for 449-469 USD (I have been getting the nicer EVGA cards at 469) and the 1070 is 419 or so in USD at the moment.

So it's only 12% more expensive (7% for the cheaper models) vs. 15% more expensive for you.

added: Polytimos support
How can the algo-switcher select Polytimos if there's no market value for the coin (yet)?
Or have you only added it pro-forma, and not to the profitability calculator?

poly was listed on coinsmarkets.com today, will be listed on yobit as well fee is paid.

Are you still mining just these 4?  Its been 4-5 days, are you still convinced this is a better solution?  Are you using ZPool?

Others have mentioned modifying a -m multiplier value, do you yourself do this and what values do you use for six 1070 GPUs?

Still at 180 interval?

FARM #1 : 60 GPUs spread across 6 rigs (1080ti/1080/1070ti/1070)
FARM #2 : 72 GPUs spread across 12 rigs (1070ti x 6)
FARM #3 : 16 GPUs spread across 4 rigs (1080ti x 4)

So far in the 1st 24h 4x1060 + 1080ti hased for about 0.0012 Btc. Not bad, not good. I've since added another 1060, I'll try to monitor and see how that goes for a few days.

By subtracting "balance" or "total pending"?
