They charge on volume weight or wight in kg the bigger one. And they do have minimum weight charge no matter of what 0.5 or 1 kg. They do not care if it is a single chip package, they just charge Make the calculations please and you will see that 2000 chips may cost same as one chip. It does not matter how many chips do you send concerning this topic.

It is true that 1 chip is taking less than 0.01% or so but what i am saying that the charge for one or for 2000 will be equal. I am speculating here with numbers her but you got the idea right?

For sure it will be less expensive sharing 2005 chips - 2000 + 1+1_+1+1+1 shipping costs between 5 guys (one chip order as example) equally compared to just a single chip 5 times

Yes, I do I just wanted to point out that this is only true for a small percentage of orders, which get shipped individually (not combined with other orders to, say, burnin). My point is that small orders to brunin etc. will not add much to the total shipping cost and should therefore be cheaper.

@zefir... why do you think that DHL will demand the VAT afterwards? As far as i know DHL wouldnt give you the package if you dont pay before. At least when i had to pay for the 90 sample chips they took the money from me at the door and gave me the invoice. I doubt a bit that they would collect afterwards when the goods are already delivered. Might be wrong.

At least here in Switzerland DHL operates an own import department where VAT and customs are processed and you get charged within one week after parcel was delivered. Most often they take the declared value of gods from the attached documents and add some processing fee (like 40 CHF per processed parcel), but I also had cases where they re-estimated value (e.g. on used goods with obviously too low price tags).

Other parcel services (not sure if it was UPS) charge at delivery.

Hi, where have you been over the past weeks? There were so many announcements and deadlines to provide shipping data, how could you have missed all of them?

Sadly, all chips are gone now. If you plan to build your own boards, you'll have to wait for batch 2 (which will ship when Avalon decides to). If you want to buy boards, burnin would now have enough reserves to serve your order. In the latter case, please PM me so we can find a good solution.

Given that batch 2 was ordered the same day as the first, I would not have expected 2 weeks delay (already by now) between them. We know that chips are already made, so we can only speculate why they are not shipped out fast. It won't help, so let's sit and wait.
