I guess we're back on track with the correct amount of samples.

seems to be some miscommunication here.

the people handling this just took all the people who ordered, and sent them 30 chips a person since they finally arrived, I've spoken to them and this issue is addressed, so all should be fine.

of course, the 30 chip per 10,000 rule still holds, it's just they'll show up later.

I mean it's kinda silly to do per address since people would just get more addresses or split their orders into single 10,000 orders...

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

great news. I suspected this was only a internal communication problem at Avalon. The guys in charge didn't realise the groupbuy-concept.

zefir... could you post the list of sample chips divided by batch? I mean the samples from first batch will reach earlier so it would be interesting to know how many chips the developers will get from your first batch and the following ones. This way i could adjust the sample chips delivery from my groupbuy on it. Actually i plan it this way:

BatchSamplechipsUsernameUser-ID
16burnin   70823
16BkkCoins   29155
12allten   29418
12daemondazz   101441
12bcdev   106443
12marto74   84195
12   flyonwall   87270
12   szym00   108891
11   innovina   117183
11   hf_developer   122104
11   evilscoop   98209
11   sensei   93912
11   DaGreatRV   120794
11   villex   113995

1 Chips used by a groupbuyer for his own project.

Total 30 chips

But some buyers in my groupbuy would prefer that burnin will get more because 98% of the chips will go to burnin.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

In my case, it does not make sense to split off the first batch, since there were large orders in there with no committed support so far:

The numbers for the 1st batch are displayed as chips and percentage of whatever we will receive with the first delivery. As you can see, the main open source projects won't all get enough.

Given that most of the products out there are based on the four designs (burnin, BkkCoins, allten, Avalon) and given that bitmine.ch will receive their own set of sample chips, I would like to ensure that at least those are supported with enough chips from the first delivery. Assuming 30 samples delivered for the 1st batch, I would propose the following distribution:
  • BkkCoins / burnin: 8 chips each
  • marto74: 6
  • allten: 4
  • hata1234: 2

Two chips go to a developer who wants to remain private for now (he ordered enough chips in the 1st batch for 2 samples).

Maybe we could organize a combined supply, i.e. instead of both of us sending chips to burnin, you send 14 to burnin and I send 14 to BkkCoins. That saves us some shipping costs, on the other hand it reduces redundancy and increases risk of some developer's package getting lost and leaving him without any chips.

What do you guys (both owners and supporters) think?

Zefir,
As long Bkkcoins and marto74 are getting chips i am ok. They are my favorites. No hard feelings for other devs/projects at all.I see that both of them will get some.

Best

What do you guys (both owners and supporters) think?

DaGreatRV and daemondazz create a own design too, see my sig for a list of devs and assemblers. And some in my following list will create miners too that go open source when they work but they didnt open a own thread yet.

I asked the developers that are eligible for samples and they told me they need a maximum of these chips for testing:

20 burnin
17 BKKCoins
2 allten (he has a 1-chip miner only)
4 daemondazz
3 bcdev
2 marto74
11 flyonwall
2 szym00
4 innovina
4 hf_developer
4 evilscoop
8 sensei
2 DaGreatRV
2 villex

I have the sending addresses of all of them too if you want to know. And dont forget when sending the chips outside of swiss to add customs forms. For germany ill use CN22-Form. Its best for not getting problems at customs.

So it looks like marto74 and allten would be pleased with 2 chips only. 6 chips more to spread i believe.
Let me know if you change the spreading so i can fill up with the remaining chips. I would then fill up burnin to his 20, bkkcoins to his 17 and the remaining chips to the other devs as far as possible.

If the samples from the other batches arrive all devs will have enough anyway.

I think its a good idea to share the developers. A downside would only be when one set of sample chips arrive later or some other problems occur. I could take burnins part with 20 chips. 1 chip goes to a private person and 9 are remaining then with me. If you could provide BKKCoins 17 chips you have 11 remaining. marto74 2, allten 2, hata1234 2, leaves 5.

That would make such lists as a suggestion:

zefir 30 chips

2 private buyer
17 BKKCoins (full)
2 marto74 (full)
2 allten (full)
2 hata1234

5 that could be spread to others. Maybe:
1 DaGreatRV (other unique miner)
and 4 chips to others.

sebastianju 30 chips

1 private buyer
20 burnin (full)

9 that could be spread to others. For example:
1 damondazz
1 bcdev
1 flyonwall
1 szym00
1 innovina
1 hf_developer
1 evilscoop
1 sensei
1 villex

This way each dev could at least get 1 chip. And the ones that will be used most will have enough from the start.

Let me know what you will do.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

Let me know what you will do.

I basically agree and if the demands you posted are reported by the developers, then we can ensure a sufficient support. The only buyer from my list who would get less samples than he paid for is marto74 (2 instead of 6), but if you know for sure that he's fine with that, I'm all ok.

Now we need to wait and see when (my tracking number says samples are still in Beijing) they arrive and how many of them.

Generaly I agreed to get only 2 chips from SebastianJu , when he asked me is because I was aware I'm geting 6 chips from you.
We are working on 10 chip board , so if it's not such a big problem , please stick with my 6 chips from your first batch.
If you both get only 30 chips each, then from both your groups 60 I 'll propose like this :
burnin 20
BKK -17
alten 1
from there on what each of you decide....
From the next delivery if there are any
Please ensure Bkk gets at least 16 more to be able to test stacking

Zefir, I like your distribution proposal. Regarding sending some chips from you and some from SebastianJu, I am a firm believer in redundancy.. Please send some chips each, so that at least on package arrives! Smiley

Finally, I am relatively certain I read a quote from Yifu in another thread regarding the 30 sample chips that only one set per payment address was a mistake, and that there really will be 30 per 10k batch. Don't remember WHERE i saw it (some thread on this forum, I think related to one of the first people to receive sample chips), but I hope Avalan will keep to the announced deal here.

marto74 already answered to that point though i think a 10 chip board cant be done with 6 or 8 chips only. So he probably can end his design when the other sample chips arrive anyway and he gets 2 more chips. Man... this all sucks...

I cant track the samples. When i add the tracking id it tells me that the number is incorrect or the shipment isnt existing. Im not sure whats the reason.

@docjunior... youre right about what yifu said... but the other samples will come later than the first 30 samples for the first batch.

We didn't ask anybody to support us,  as there are still so many unknown variables...
We are working hard on a solution that will benefit everybody, as we strongly believe in the community and decentralization.

The best solution imo is that we have as many developers as possible ! This will guarantee low prices and good product design...
