well that's right its depend if how the person wanted to start and how well the investors can take the risk, for first timer since you don't have any knowledge you might try much lower amount just trying if there's good progress to happen afterwards you will try much bigger if you see potentials but if you lose you can use that experience to learn deeper.

Min. amount is usually set for testing pupose. That gives investors a chance to try service before they invest bigger amounts. It is also attract more investors that don't have a lot of money or donn't have an experience and want just try how investments work. This crowds of small investors can do much profit for company/service they invest in.

Generally yes, small investments make sense since it will be big someday. This only applied for investment that can work on a long run especially those small investments in real world.

If we take that in investing in gambling site bankroll, I see BTC0.01 will took to you to nowhere. With that amount you are only holding a very few stake at the whole bankroll of a site. Profits have high chances but the question is how much with that amount. 0.01BTC isn't very big and hence your % of investment against the BR  will be too low which will decrease your profits . For example , lets say the casino's BR is 100 BTC , your percentage is 0.01% then you get 10k satoshis for every 1 BTC lost by any gambler and you loose 10k for every 1 BTC won by any gambler . This doesn't remain the same as if a huge investor comes up and invests 50 BTC then your percentage shrinks ( Called as Diluting ) and you will earn even less for the same 1 BTC lost by gambler now .

investing your small amount of bitcoin in alt coin can make sense. because from there one can even get more profit by investing a small amount. some time we invest in our bitcoin in a low value alt coin. but have good potential to increase its price. therefore some time we make good profit by investing small amount of bitcoin.

The profits dont change based on how much you put in. You will get the same share in % just over more bitcoin so you must decide if $10 is going to make you enough to reach whatever your goal is and of not then increase it till it is.

Maybe you play world of Warcraft and want the subscription paid for. You need $15 a month so the investments gives 5% a month so you need 20x $15 because 100% / 5% = 20

So to get $15 a month you will need $300.

Remember investments are not fixed returns and can differ but I'm talking about the average. Anyone offering you fixed return is scamming you.

For me I will say there is no big or small investment its purely what you can afford as that amount you might regard as small is big to some other people and the same applies to the amount you regard as big. In addition to that every investment is a risk and the higher the risk, the higher the return. If you going in small, never expect any big returns.

If you just want to experience/test investing 0.01 btc will do fine, but if you actually want to make good profit you're gonna have to invest more than that.
