There are several reasons, here are a few of them. With the recent and long documented history of exchanges collapsing or getting hacked or charging huge fees we thought it was time for a change. CryptXC aims at being the next go to exchange for your digital currency needs. There are a few main tried and tested exchanges but not many other options.

It is asking to enable 2FA to access funds page. Is it not optional?

In my opinion you should begin as main reference for all new altcoin comings out daily.
When you acquire faith from altcoins, specially new ones, you can think about volume.

At beginning is more important to have several user from several altcoins that talk and trade their favourite coin on your exchange.
Listing "famous" coin is not popular. all exchange have them. Better to focus to new altcoins.

Like yobit and bittrex did their first months. Listing everything. even the shittiest. just to start,check,and make community talk.
Just my opinion...

Why bittrex,mintpal,cryptsy,poloniex,yobit became so popular? Because at beginning their were like a "big community exchange", full of altcoins, where everyone was trading his favourite.

Why many new exchange failed? Because they list only popular coin, where user already trade on most popular existing exchange.

That's a nice strategy, I agree. Give new projects a chance by listing them and grow big in cooperation with them.
