Filing a lawsuit against Genesis Mining

Hello everyone,

I would like to share you my story about how bad the customer support is at Genesis Mining. This is not a joke and I will post screenshots to prove to you that all of this is very much real as it can be.
After watching BoxMining videos on YouTube, I wanted to buy contract for ETH mining, when the hype period was very profitable. At 2017-06-17, I started to buy ETH contracts (see screenshot below):

Aaaand guess what, the very first week made me scared after not receiving my Ethers from them, because they said that every payment will take place in 24 hours and I waited at least 28 hours:

I started to Google around if people had the same issue and saw that some of them had the same problem. After some time, I gave up hope, because I was scared not to receive any Ethers from them anymore,
because many, many people where starting to complain when they would receive their coins.

After 1 month, I started to think that this was a real scam, because I didn't receive payments for at least 6 days! A friend of mine told me that they got hacked:

So after I contacted Genesis Mining for a full refund because I didn't trusted them anymore and this is what I got back:

last year the Genesis has a good reputation about cloud mining business but today as people realized that cloud mining is not profitable anymore and are prone to scam some are keeping away from this kind of service because some of them are victims to scamming modus operandi but the problem is how to file a lawsuit if the representative from this service are fictitious and no real identity even if the cloudmining facilities are nowhere to found.cloudminig are unregulated and no protection program to investors, so the lesson is stay away from any too good to be true cloudmining service.

There's a thread here at Bitcointalk about Genesis-Mining and as far as I know, the creator of that thread, which is also part of that cloud mining site, is still active in answering and posting there. Try to post your concern about their company in that thread. There may be people there with similar complaints like you against Genesis-Mining and you might even get support from them in your fight. If you look carefully wizzkid, you can see that the payments aren't paid properly. I waited 6 WHOLE days to get paid and the day after that, they started with excuses again and that they would start a payment process the same day.

I also didn't say that I didn't get paid. They just don't pay you properly and come with many excuses every freaking time.

Then the best thing you can do for now is to contact them and telling them about your concern or issue since they are the only ones can resolve such thing because i didnt experience such thing because i do recieve payout anytime and automatically. There might something wrong with them in your case because its somehow manual as far as i can see.

I did that and they won't do much. If you complain, they respond very late on purpose. I found a contract lawyer in Munich who will be contacting them soon. We are in the process of preparing for a lawsuit if nothing comes back from them, because I want to get out and I have the rights just like anybody else.

Funny is how first they have some IT problems, and then later a hack is announced. Every time a service runs into problems, they blame it on hackers - so convenient. Anyway, this is another story in many stories you can find online about Genesis Mining. They claim so much and look so professional, but so many customers even from more than 1 year ago complain that they lose money.

Lesson: cloud mining is not profitable, unless you are a whale.

Hi Aerial, I have been looking for productive threads where a serious action against Genesis Mining can be organised.
I am glad I have found some helpful reflection on Bitcointalk also.
I know that payouts are automatically executed. That's what's really surprising actually. What I can tell you for sure is that sometimes payments are simply not made, so that missing payouts accumulate till a nice sum is created. Apparently, a large number of customers are experiencing this kind of fraud. Please understand that this is not a mattere of discussing the ROI opportunity. This topic has been discussed a lot across dedicated Internet quarters. The principal point here is that they may not pay. That's it. A support ticket is opened, and they don't respond. They simply don't care. I systematically update a document illustrating all the payments issues I have, and open a ticket. Nothing. Since the support staff is inexistent, I also wrote to S. Schindler, Genesis Mining CTO. I wrote to the sales department. I also wrote to the PR manager, in the hopes that someone might care. In the meantime, payouts remain missing in multiple algos.
Importantly, this is not a matter of subjectively expressing points of view on cloud mining investment. Everybody can says what thinks about it, at any time. Different perspectives on whether it is a viable investment or not. What I am saying here is that they decide not to pay. And because they do discard the assistance requests, they are not paying intentionally.
I know people that only received a small portion of coins after paying the contract. Genesis Mining seem to be using the hack and infrastructure reconstruction arguments to generate confusion. Time goes on and on, and coins remain unpaid. After weeks and months, nothins happens.

There is not any law for cryptocurrency, how can you fill a lawsuit. No government will protect you from mining or trading.

I started a ETH Genesis mining contract in april 2017 I got 1 payment in May....since then my payments have been missing, no balance showing up, no withdrawal, no accumulation ECT ECT I wrote 3 tickets a while back and just got my 1st response, 7 months later. Said there was a glitch in the system blah blah blah,....we know you missing stuff. WTF guess i just lose my 2yr contract and a loss of 2k dollars

Genesis Mining is DECEPTIVE and FRAUDULENT
Genesis Mining do not uphold their part of the agreement.

Genesis Mining frequently stop providing your daily payout numbers, so you don't know what the payouts should be and when the reporting of daily payout number resumes, there are gaps and missing days, the average of what is reported to teh p[payouts differ - always in their favor.

Genesis Mining continually stop providing payouts, so you don't get your coins transferred to you, and when they restart the amounts don't align with the payout figures provided.

Genesis Mining always blame their IT department for the missing transactions and payouts, so therefore the frequency of the issues means that they have a unreliable and ineffective capability to provide a reasonable service to you.

Genesis Mining only seem attend to support tickets after you publicly embarrass them on twitter or Facebook

If Genesis Mining is not a scam then they are recklessly incompetent, something the law suites against them will prove I am sure.

I am in Australia and would gladly enter into a class action or multiparty law suit against Genesis Mining and its entities.

This seems to be a rather old thread but I want to participate.

I purchased 7 contracts. All of them said that they were the "Lifetime Bitcoin - Gold" that were ended




and when you purchase the hashpower with the slider it even says "Mine Forever"




They even went as far as e-mailing me asking me to review my purchase of Lifetime Bitcoin Contract - Gold

Now here's the funny part.
I explained on Twitter that they lured and attracted customers by saying that it's a "Lifetime" contract but in the agreement the terms say "open-ended" (not lifetime) which I believe to be a classic bait and switch scam. Then they ask me how old the image that I shared was claiming that I couldn't have purchased it because the details that I posted on Twitter so there was no "bait and switch." They stated that they went away from the term "Lifetime" in the later half of 2017 because it caused confusion. They somehow figure that I'm not entitled to the argument because I didn't purchase any that state "Lifetime." Obviously they're grossly mistaken.



So I'm not sure why nobody has considered taking them to court but if we can start a class action I believe that it would either give everyone what they want or force them to shut down completely. Either way, it's a win-win for most of those that have invested in the last few years.

Their reputation is completely destroyed by cancelling their contracts. There are a few people on Twitter that have less than 5 posts and are saying only positive things about it making me think that Genesis is trying to fabricate positive comments so that it doesn't seem entirely negative. As I explained to them many times before if they want more business they should want to attract their loyal customers back. Those that have spent tens even hundreds of thousands on their contracts. You know... the ones they screwed over? But instead their relying on attracting new (naive) customers while their loyal ones continue to tear down their reputation. Makes no sense to me why their doing this. What they should do is do right by the ones that feel scammed by giving them something. Reactivate their existing contracts and put a 2 year term agreement on it. If they start seeing profit then they'll buy more. That's all they need to do. It'll save their reputation and even keep them from getting sued.

Did you read properly before making your post? there is a difference between not getting paid and been paid late, try to spot the difference. Ummmm!
