Can you do a payment reversal on paypal, so you don't lose out? Any trade involving paypal is risky and that is plastered all over the forum. You should try localbitcoins next time and pay via bank transfer, it's still risky but you get to see their trading history and verifications.

Small tip: Do not deal with random people with no history of trading without escrow.

Fortify is right you can do it as paypal is reversible and I hope this will serve as a lesson to you. Don't deal a transaction to a non trusted user especially to newbie without using an escrow.
