now
give-me-coins at #1115671 with 35MH/s
theblocksfactory at #1115104 with 40MH/s

but theblocksfactory shows Network Hashrate is 100MH/s
and give-me-coins shows Network Hashrate only 40MH/s

Is this means give-me-coins will not become right chain although block number is bigger ?

We see network hashrate as 95MH

and we @ ~40MH block 1115104

Is this means give-me-coins will not become right chain although block number is bigger ?

The GMC chain will not become the right chain regardless of its length or cumulative difficulty. This chain is accepted by v0.9 clients only. The other chain is recognised by v0.8 and v0.11 clients. When it becomes longer/heavier, v0.9 clients will reorganise.

It seems Suprnova has forked to their own chain in the last a few hours. Although it's v0.8/v0.11 compatible and the chain length is comparable to TBF, its cumulative difficulty is lower and it will lose eventually.

http://forum.feathercoin.com/topic/8366/feathercoin-fork/5

Wellenreiter [MODERATORS]

Exactly that’s needed to to.
Upgrade/downgrade to 0.9.3.

Versions 0.8.7 and 0.11.2 are stuck at block 111410
Version 0.8.7.1 may work, but we have no proof if it is working or not, so the saffest way it to go to the latest release version, which is 0.9.3
-------------

feathercoin.miningpoolhub.com is at 1116073
givemecoins is at 1116071
which looks they are on the same wallet, 0.9.3 version.

When blockchain does not compatible to each other they will just disconnect each other and build their own.
So blockchain fork will not be fixed automatically.

Dev's checkpoint decision seems like 0.9.3 version.
Is it right? dev? Is it safe to mine at 0.9.3 wallet?

a block hash + block height would be better to indicate the correct chain.

Checkpoint is the main problem why blockchain splitted. So it's not the guide to point the main blockchain.

1. Dev has stated that 0.9.3 blockchain is the main. Mostly, dev has the main decision power on this situation on other coins.
(For example, Dash dev had pointed even shorter blockchain when blockchain forked last year)

2. The main point why dev has decided 0.9.3 is that official release (from www.feathercoin.com) is version 0.9.3
Most of users should use 0.9.3 not v0.11. Some of them would use v0.8 but it's outdated.

3. Actually 0.9.3 block height is at 1116286
and other version is at 1115722
0.9.3 wallet has more longer height, too.

Why do you think 0.8/0.11 blockchain must be selected over 0.9.3?
(1) Not selected by dev, (2) Unofficial release or outdated, (3) shorter blockchain.

the question was not for me, but what I think is :

forum moderator != dev
in crypto majority should rules
8.7.* have 3 times more nodes than 9.*
8.7.* have 6 times more hashrate than 9.*
9.* is buggy, producing a shit load of orphan.
The problem was caused by 9.* nodes not the others.
as you said with dash, the longest blockchain is not always the good one

v0.9 has long standing compatibility issues. They weren't detected at the release time unfortunately. Although end users may use any wallet release available, v0.8 is advised for production until v0.11 matures enough to replace it. A patched v0.8 release may be available today.

Block chain length isn't important. It's cumulative difficulty to decide which chain prevails. The v0.8/v0.11 chain has 170MH/s now. The alternate chain is less than 50MH/s. I advise to switch your pool to the v0.8/v0.11 chain.

sorry to see this /

edit one

hopefully you fire up the pool again if this issue is ever sorted out ---i stay updated with supernova's pools on twitter !!

i was using the 8.x version in win vm,
guess i have to build 0.9.3. ftc, no win wallet on github but i am sure i can compile

strange how this happened a day or so after activity really picked up

not saying it was done on purpose but curious as to exactly what (if anyone knows) happened

I have just finished v0.8.7.3 with the BIP66 (Strict DER) support and checks to make sure such a fork won’t happen again.
