What are some of the cryptocurrencies worth mining now?

I think Ethereum is worth to mine, because of the altcoin now are engaging their coins into ethereum, aside from being popular in cryptocurrency, it is globaly well know in term of their upcoming project that they will announce to their community.

I would say Monero and Zcash at the moment. Monero have stable price and I switched to this coin some time ago and much more satisfied than Ethereum (lower power consumption on cryptonight) and if you got Nvidia cards just go with Zcash, best one for Nvidia

What are some of the cryptocurrencies worth mining now?

XMR, DASH,Ethereum,Pascalcoin
but it depends on your spec and how many your rig can produce the hash power, and you can check more on this site. https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/zcl?HashingPower=&HashingUnit=H%2Fs&PowerConsumption=200&CostPerkWh=0.12 and try to read the whole thread in the forum to get the good altcoin is worth for your spec.

How about mining in the outer rims? DGB, DOGE, the smallcaps that have lower network hash rates and higher growing potential on a comeback?

these older, more popular coins mostly have high hasrates and also high difficulty which makes mining them pretty hard and also their price is very low which them makes mining them even less profitable.

to OP:
check out this site: http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency
it has so many good information about mining all the cryptocurrencies. work with their calculator and read the details of each one of the coins and try to figure out which one is best depending on your costs.

loving bitcoin...

The best coins to mine are new coins you think have some value that have not yet been added to exchanges. These coins will be very easy to mine, and if they get listed on yobit, polo, c-cex, etc you'll be able to instantly sell and achieve a profit against the input required to mine. You don't even need to own mining equipment- you can still profit renting miners for BTC.
