can we keep this thread on topic?  Posts about the price and buy/sell wall again which it is titled.

These long debates, bcash/btc arguments, and silly memes are getting old.
They need their own thread, and it's spilling over to other threads as well. Yes Bittrash is a bad faith garbage coin. How do we make bitcoin better?

Meantime how are things this morning? Everything is down again, wonder how people are getting money out and we're at 187k unconfirmed transactions. Better, but bad.

It's a shame that smart guys that look at Bitcoin with this much common sense and bullish confidence aren't allowed to be plastered all over the MSM.

Which is what the MSM really wants, smart people like this marginalized and drowned out by the naysayers. Otherwise they know the Average Joes of the world would be piling into Bitcoin right now with both fists.

If bcash vs. btc arguments, and big block vs. small block arguments, were considered off-topic and banned from this thread, then the trolls/shills would have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT and would leave this WO thread forever.

So.... halle-fucking-lujah! Please make it so.

I'm all for a block size increase to 2mb. I just think that 8mb, as proposed by BCash, is too much, and will create more problems in the future, such as centralized nodes.

I agree... start slow and move up.

Just do something.

Amazing how people can't see the obvious. 2MB blocks, 8MB, 64MB, whatever you want MB is not the solution. And 8MB blocks by BCash has low fees for simple reason absolutely nobody is using it. You can put whatever cap you want sooner or latter fees are going to again get up as adoption spreads, and we are not even at the beginning of real adoption, meaning adoption at the Twitter or Facebook users number levels. Block size increase will only lead to many people not being able to run a node and solve nothing. The only solution is LN, true solution without any side effects. Unlimited number of transactions, 0 fees, period. There is no point of making Bitcoin more centralized when LN are just around a corner. Let's first try and see how it works before we hard-fork to bigger block-size forever.

The BCH team is working on getting rid of the blocksize limitation altogether. So If you want to backup all of you photos, the BCH chain will be a great place to do it. Only people with servers that cost 20K USD to setup will be able to run a node. Craig Wright believes only mining nodes matter.  Roll Eyes I'm not sure a fee market can be established with unlimited blocks.  Cheesy

That’s right.

Just introduce 10GB blocks and call it a night. Problem solved.

Craig Wright is a known puppet of three-letter-agencies. Low-level con-artist. I'm not surprised he states that only mining nodes matter, it only shows how incompetent he is.

Let's just hope people who can actually run a node don't get the bright idea to charge subscription fees to let your SPV wallet connect to them.

I think many of us overestimated its development status when -almost half a year ago- thought it be the final push into mainstream readiness for Bitcoin.

We tried to tell you... and were soundly excoriated for it.

Quote
At the same time, maybe also underestimated the rate of new users/investors that were to come in the following months.

We tried to...

But neither BCash or other alt coins are a solution to that, nor ever will be.

Because....?

Hell no. Fees should be nearly zero. Miners should work for free. Are you capitalist or what?

Just found a stack of paper wallets from 2015. I was giving away 0.05 Bitcoi in each and these were the leftovers. It’s a nice find I didn’t know I had it....

Yep.   All of a sudden scrap amounts become real money.

It is kind of bullshit, though, regarding how some of these people treat their gifts, and I have a few war stories regarding that too.

My friend recently contacted me, and told me that he was looking for his son's $40 bitcoin transaction that I had sent for a graduation gift.

Mind you I sent $40 to the son and $10 to the dad, in order that they could, perhaps, learn together about bitcoin.  The price was around $380 at the time... So, a couple of times a year, I would remind him about bitcoin and ask him if he had retrieved the bitcoin... did it through Circle....  He said, yeah, yeah, yeah, he still has access to the e-mail account, and just a few weeks ago when he contacted me, he asked me if I could recover the coins because he said that he did not have access to the e-mail accounts.  The son's value was something like $1,740 and the dads value was something like $440.  Crazy.  I think that they lost everything, unless they can regain access to their earlier e-mails, perhaps there is a way... I think that it was a private domain e-mail that their family administrator allowed the domain to expire.

That would be pretty impressive.
