If I could get away with a flat 20% tax on my gains I would pay it with a fucking smile. But I bet it's gonna be more than that when they eventually implement it. Gotta get to work on moving to brazil or wherever, probably don't have much time left.
Yes yes. If you are really paying 80% GTFO of dodge!

Just take the taxes side of things. You can't own the house because of the property taxes. You can't go anywhere without paying the taxes on the gas. You can't leave the country if you owe the IRS. [...] So it's fine if you're a statist cuck with no ambition. But it's no place for a sovereign individual.
Sovereign individual, ha! Since when has that ever existed? snip- Sovereign individual indeed. - /trigger - Go Bitcoin go. lol notbad read http://trilema.com/

You are still free to go into any country anywhere in the world that will let you enter without a passport. The fact that none of those exist isn't the united states government's fault.
Svalbard, baby. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_SvalbardA bit of a niche destination and getting a job might be a tad hard though. Or staying alive in general. Or getting there without docs.

You can choose to bask in the freedoms that you have and the freedoms that you make for yourself or to focus on and be resentful for the freedoms that you lack. All the time you spend lamenting the freedoms that you lack is time that you aren't spending building a freer life for yourself. I just find complaining about a 3% gas tax or the fact that there is an outside possibility that you will be robbed if you are carrying massive amounts of cash on the road to be so counter productive.
You're not wrong, in fact you're right. The first step to taking the red pill and "waking up" is realizing all of those things, and how you want your own personal life to go a different way from the sheeple masses that don't seem to mind or care about the constant neutering of career growth, rising taxes, debt burdens, and erosion of personal freedoms. Once you're woke though, even if your working to build a freer life for yourself, you're still going to bitch about the state of affairs quite a bit. It's like a moral obligation to constantly bitch and point all those things out, in the hopes that you helped to wake up and "free" another sheeple that might be reading one's blatherings, lol. Yea you aren't wrong either. I probably overstated my case. What is needed is a healthy balance of complaining and self improvement. These things that V8 pointed out are bullshit. They should change. People should know about them. We should be pissed off about them. What I really didn't like was the implication that "i'm not actually free even though I think I am because of these things". Sure I am less free because of these things, we all are, but because of my choices and they way they played out I'm pretty content with the amount of freedom that I have carved out for myself in my life, and that comes from a rational informed appraisal, not a sheep mentality.

What's the actual tax rate in the states, anyway? In my country it's about 80%. 50% income tax, 25% sales tax and a whole bunch of taxes that are not openly advertised on anything you buy adding up to another 50%.
How much of your labor needs to be taken away before you no longer consider yourself "free"?
Then, there are property taxes. These vary widely and are based on the value of your home. Mine are something like $2,400/year.State sales tax is typically around 6-7%. There is no federal sales tax. There are other taxes, which are hidden from most people, such as corporate income taxes, gasoline tax, etc. Man, I wish my RE taxes were this low. In TX they are INSANELY high. $10K on a moderately valued home. It's a high replacement of state tax. I am not retired, but a typical retiree cannot pay this. Ouch. The governments will take their pound of flesh one way or another I guess. Angry rant deleted I merit you for passion, and for balancing out the anarcho-libertarian madness that we exhibit here. Now... why not chill the feck out.

Yes yes. If you are really paying 80% GTFO of dodge! At the same time, we are probably among the least fucked nations in the west. So, dilemma. I have high hopes for Puerto Rico (no doubt to be dashed, as usual). 75% white, proper english, nice weather. Can't think of anywhere else that looks better on paper.

If you have or require a pass-port, pass-code, pass-word your not free. You may pass the barrier with the correct documentation. Prisons i think use pass-cards to go from a to b. Migrating birds dont renew travel documents or obtain visas when they decide to go because they are free.

Freedom is not something that can be given. It is something you take. In a world where governments outgun the people, true freedom simply can not exist.

You can pay 0% taxes to the US if you leave the US and only take out $35k in capital gains per year.
Or make less than $100k in income.
Again. You have to leave the US to avoid such extortions.

I guess there are places in the world where $35k a year goes a very long way. In fact, I imagine half that would do in a lot of places. (I hope.)

You can move to a US unincorporated territory (not state), you wont be able to vote while resident there but can remain a citizen and not pay federal income taxes. Afaik USA is the only country to want citizens living and earning money in another sovereign nation and yet you must pay income taxes to the USA anyway or forfeit your passport and pay an exit fee. The current highs are in line with the start of July as a trend, it failed then and now forms some resistance but I think 7700 is more likely to be found as a proper top or ceiling to navigate which was march lows and June top pricing. CBOE futures expired a few minutes ago. Let's see if Lord Bogdanoff is at the tiller of this ship or not.
Unless this was that important to impact pricing lowest price per pint on the Beer Price List. Lager > beer
