Yeah, great movie. Gives me the chills even today.

I watched it when I was little (was not supposed to). Some scenes have haunted me ever since.

It's playing in cinemas at present. If you get the chance you should deffo check it out.

I've stayed in the Stanley Hotel and the Timberline Lodge both of which have been used to film it. I went there with a lass who I think would've eventually murdered me but she was infected with that before going to the hotels.

Personalities are pretty set in stone, I suppose.

So you're saying we need to build a stablecoin on top of our personalities? Hm, interesting...

I tried to wrap my mind around how that would work... and it almost broke.

Brings this  to mind.....

"When the man marries the women, he thinks she will never change ....and she does.
When the women marries the man,  she thinks he will change... and he doesn't. "

Which begs the question: how is infofront's wife doing? Is she still subservient? (his word, not mine!)

I would think a year and a half in the states would be enough to make her spoiled. I know my girlfriend has developed something of an attitude after the same amount of time together, and we're still in the Philippines! At least she's still a good cook, when she does cook...

Hahahaha

All girls are like that.  They get attitudes after a while, especially after a couple of years in a relationship.

Well, then i'm in luck, i guess.
She does have her quirks, mainly a week around her period, but that's something you get used to it, because you know it goes by within a couple of days and she apologies and tries to compensate.
In all other aspects, she is still the same girl/woman, as i was staying pretty the same over the last 10+ years. It just works, like an old car. It runs, when there's some defect it's easy to repair. Just watch to keep it fueled up and watch for rusty spots. Since we had the kids there is a lack of sex and she's very unhappy about that, so it's not because she's no more interested.

All my girls before were pretty "normal" in terms of relation aspects, as you, JJG, have summed it up above.
About a third of them were even cheating on me.
I teach my children to look at the relationship and personalities of their girlfriend's parents.
"This will be her future as your wife/your future as a couple, so if you don't like what you see at her home, it's time to look somewhere else (,son)"...
All problematic girls i were in a relationship with had parents with a problematic relationship or history, too.

----

I'm starting to work on my bitcointalk 10yeaar anniversary art piece today, which i will also share in WO as soon as it's finished. I hope i won't fuck it up  Grin

Waking up today to a traders market then. 0.5 to the 0.786. Back down to the 0.5 then? I imagine there will be some futures based selling action today to catch up from missed opportunities over the weekend. Namely, the doji reversal sharp sell off from the October 26th. There's a big gap that arguably will be filled eventually down to $8900 (200 Day MA).

Not that we should care about BCH in here but this will be interesting
One could even speculate the correlation between this news and the big move.

Quote
There appear to be some problems with BCH mining, perhaps related to the difficulty re-targeting algorithm. It also appears one entity is now in effective control of mining.

I'm curious to learn what is going on here. Anyone know more?

Thanks to Bitcoin I have been investigating some retirement options.  Not yet, but for the next bull.

Now my ad feed is full of hearing aid ads.

Nice

considering what everyone was doing throughout the weekends since the 90ies (club, party, loud music) and also considering the endemic spread of headphones in the last decades i think investing in hearing aid companies is a fairly safe bet. they will not run out of demand in the future. hearing aid will as so common as mobile phones. hell, it wont be long until apple is building one i guess.

Just had a lovely walk and found these little buggers

Nice Grin

Morning WO's, up another couple hundred from last night.

I'm curious how you intend to prepare these? There's only a few things I've been too afraid to try, Fly ammonita, pantera's, and tree datura are the ones which still torment my curiosity.
Please let us know how it goes.

A. muscaria and A. pantherina are similar. Pantherina is allegedly stronger. Both contain basically the same actives. By decarboxylating the acid into muscimol, a manageable entheogen can be obtained. Decarboxylation can be carried out by drying in open air or in a low heat oven (think merengue). The intoxication is totally unlike psylocibin, more like a drunken trance often accompanied by nausea or other discomfort. Doable with some care. If you give the mushroom a few quick boils, always discarding the water, you are left with a harmless edible mushroom. I have no idea how tasty it is, but if we're talking food, I'd choose A. caesarea any day - and cook it very lightly (sauteed in butter). Or eat it raw, as in a salad ;-)

On the other hand, daturas are downright nasty. Tree datura - you mean brugmansia? - is one of the quirkiest and least predictable. I see little recreational value in nightshades and relatives. They really are best left alone.

right. i recommend magic mushrooms and lsd if you want to trip, pick a sunny day (preferably on a day where you do not have any job or social obligations next day) and a very good friend and bike or hike through nature. leave mobile at home. if you want to play safe have 5 mg diazepam as a parachute with you just in case the trip is turning bad.

datura is dangerous. i have seen consumers that went straight to hospital for severe mental problems that lasted several weeks.

i can see why the "blockchain-not-bitcoin" idiots went wrong. there is only one blockchain that has a valid use case and that is an invention: bitcoin.

to see an entire high-tech nation, and not a marginal one, to fall for this stupidity is hard to believe. the only explanation i have ( and i am no expert in this field) is that TRUST is such a big issue for china, since there is this culture of cheating and now they hope that "blockchain" will somehow make it easier for them to trust companies (for example).

i dont see "blockchain" working. it is out for a decade now, where are the applications? other than money/bitcoin?

if they really go all-in to "blockchain" with their entire economy it will end as a catastrophic failure like the Great Leap Forward.

Bitcoin already is a gateway to many other cryptocurrencies.
In the long run the statecoins (centralized) and BTC, maybe a few other coins that make sense will survive.
So why don't you like it?

I'd be more comfortable holding a BTC stash and "using" it partially for exchange into other CC i can actually use.
This doesn't mean BTC can't be used, but it would give me better control about exchange fees.
