Watched this a second time, I'm hooked. On point narrative between bitcoin, banking, debt, currency and government risk management.  Why only 3K views?? Serious bull juice, scary AF to consider.   Cry
Simon Dixon: How Bitcoin Could Become A World Reserve Currency By 2020
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oofk-i4uRM

Nice.  I watched it (30 minutes), and I agree that Simon Dixon is both a bitcoin bullish kind of guy, and he is also quite knowledgeable about how money works.

Oh no! Not Bakkt again! This is going to trigger V8!

I must admit, I don't understand Bakkt. There are a lot of different things and stuff happening with Bitcoin lately, and kinda hard to keep on top of everything that's developing or being rolled out.

Bummed out bailing on LND as "entirely unprofitable and a management nightmare", GRIN being a pile of shit (new 2080ti gaming rig on the positive side !) and nothing else being interesting to me in crypto space right now, in terms of Layer 2 Bitcorn stuff. Even Liquid is boring AF to me.

So, I will just HODL until $15k.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. Lightning is very cool, but a time sink and not very profitable. I have been getting back into VR to pass some time and do development.

But you will have to make alot of assumptions and no-one except maybe the market makers can answer that question as there really is no proof whether the tail wags the dog or not. Smiley

In actual nature, I have never seen or heard about an actual tail wagging a dog; however, in theory, I have heard a lot of theories that would require tails to wag dogs, because some people either believe that the world works like that or they have not sufficiently thought through their own speculation requirements.

Go figure?Huh

Y'know, the world economy would have to be have to be REALLY tanking for an Saudi Arabian oil company to issue an IPO...

...oh wait.  Undecided

I had this exact thought yesterday...why the fuck would they sell the keys to the treasury...unless...

Welp looks like it’s not the world economy tanking - just OPEC.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/05/opec-report-global-oil-demand-growth-forecast-cut-over-the-medium-and-long-term.html

The Saudis can see the writing on the wall with the wave of renewables and electric cars coming.  We will still need oil for aviation fuel and some manufacturing, but demand overall will be way down.

So much for peak oil.

BAKKT is a necessity for big money center banks e.g. goldman, morgan stanley, jpmorgan, ubs, barclays, etc to have an opportunity to gain access to BTC legitimately if they should choose to do so ... why would these banks want access to legitimate BTC?

BAKKT is a necessity for the criminal syndicate of big money to control the price of bitcoin through naked short sales. They think they can use rehypothecated bitcoin collateral like they do with physical gold. They can't!

No you must break the incel code and go and get yourself laid. It will grow you up no end and you will start to find yourself, be more fulfilled, and even happy from time to time. Girls are pretty great and you don't have to marry them or even listen to them.

Hard to claim Bitcoin solves double spend when PoW doesn't solve rough consensus attack, so the thing is designed to be some everbranching bullshit of multiple forks:  Bitcoin 'Core', Bitcoin Cash, etc, and the same phenomenon everywhere else like Ethereum classic.   It also uses false premises like pretending anytime two chains exist with the same algo, one will somehow be terminally attacked and disappear into the void..except they don't.

Shitcoins obviously have a counterfeiting problem.  If you have a counterfeiting problem, are double spends actually solved?  Not really, because like I said, the excess coins are not governed by longest chain.  Not to mention it being impossible to create a decentralized digital shitcoin in the first place because transaction validators are always designed to centralize.  But it's not really a counterfeiting problem.  Anything based on artificial scarcity is...destined to have no real scarcity since the act can be replicated in some manner.

Money.
It's not BTC needs Wall Street. It's actually the opposite: Wall Street needs Bitcoin because it's a decorrelated asset with huge volatility.
In a world of low/negative yields, banks are desperate getting a positive yielding asset class, where they can source their commissions.

Get an idea here:
Re: Extracting stable positive return from high-volatile asset.HF recipe made simple.
Not only that particular message, but also the OP can give you an insight about that.

Nice Sunday morning dose of optimism...

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bobby-lee-500k-bitcoin-price-flippening-of-gold-will-come-by-2028
Quote
Lee also joined PlanB in predicting far higher Bitcoin prices in the latter part of the next decade or beyond. While the former thinks a $1 million price tag is possible in the event of global money printing continuing, PlanB noted that money printing could ultimately stop the Stock-to-Flow model from working.

“I would be happy if the model holds for 1 or 2 or maybe 3 more halvings. Especially since BTC is measured in $ … who knows what happens with $ if the FED keeps doing more QE (money printing),” he said in a Twitter exchange late last month.

Partially.... marry is no need, but in order to live good together then you might need to listen from time to time  Shocked So always good to find one where communication and interests are a bit similar...

In Belgium we say "de kerk in het midden houden" - "gotta keep the church in the middle"

So if I do things where she follows me , then after I will do things for her of-course where I will follow...

I thought that CME allowed for naked short sales, but BAKKT had to use actual bitcoin collateral/settlement?

Of course, any large institution is likely going to attempt to play around with rehypothecation (aka fractional reserves), but officially BAKKT is supposed to have BTC to cover all claims and claims are covered at the end of each contract, too (which they describe as daily settled - which I am presuming to mean that they have the BTC at the end of each day.  Surely, I am no accounting expert).
