It's funny how so many people try to predict the future price of Bitcoin, when the answer is obvious:

Long-term: UP!
Short-term: Roll a dice!

I just buy when I can, HoDL, and don't look at the short-term price action much. It's the easiest and least stressful strategy that almost guarantees profits. Has served me well.

Also, I have bitterly regretted EVERY single time I could have bought, but didn't... Which confirms the above strategy.

Couldn't agree more. Back in 2013 when I first got into Bitcoin, I did it because it seemed like a good investment.

Because it was an investment, I would worry about my buy in price, I always wanted to maximise my profit and of course regretted missing bottoms here and there and wish I allocated more of my investment stash.

For the last few years my attitude has completely changed, assisted by the drop in rates by my home country's CB I now view Bitcoin for what it actually is. Not an investment, but as a savings vehicle, I am saving for my retirement and my children's future and I do that not with a savings account, but with Bitcoin.

For years the central bank and my government has been destroying my savings through corruption and inflation, not any more, all my excess income now goes straight into bitcoin and will stay there forever. And that's how you do bitcoin people. It's not an investment, it's a savings vehicle. Strong hands forever.

Yes, exactly. The sad thing (for me) is that, all the fiat I've "invested" in Bitcoin over the years, I already had available when I first bought Bitcoin in 2015. Had I used it all at that time, I would now have x10 the amount of coins I currently have.

Lesson learned: buy whenever you can, not later!

A dark rainy night
I just shot my dear old cat
Tears rolling down my face

Sorry to hear that.
I had to put my 15 year old standard poodle down last week.
Most unpleasant.

Commiserations to both of you. What was it Arrie, a car accident?
15 is pretty good machasm for a big dog. so sorry.

Appreciate the thoughts.
He had a pretty good life and the missus and I could do with a break now.
Looking to do some travelling now that we don’t have to be home looking after him.
Every cloud and all that.

At least BTC is looking good recently.

Gut is giving me a feeling we might see ATH before New Year. I hope he is right.

From thinking to see 5-4-3k-ish ranges to revisit ATH before newyear.... you got a wide stretch Wink

I just read a few hundred posts from this thread between Jan and March 2018. Don't really know what I was looking for.

Its interesting to see that, of the regulars who are still here, nobody has changed a single bit. It basically sounded like the conversations could have happened today.

Personalities are pretty set in stone, I suppose.

One of the biggest events that happened in those months was infofront got married.

Other than that, it was exactly the same 'ol shit. Things people argued about:

- the next price movement
- small blocks vs. big blocks
- racism

Things people agreed on:

- hot women are fun to look at
- cars should go fast
- bitcoin is pretty neat

So you're saying we need to build a stablecoin on top of our personalities? Hm, interesting...

My condolences, got 4 dogs myself and I know it will break my heart missing them.... and one of them is getting very old, though I know the oldest one was a mis treaded dog from his previous owner and I took her in at the age of 2-3.....

I hope I have given her and my other dogs a better life, I know my GF doing a perfect job for the dogs and I hope i'm doing it OK as well Cheesy

But very important when we have chosen for a pet, we have to take care for them till we have to let them go in piece ....

Gold is not scarce. Mining gold from asteroids may tarnish its store of value status. Bitcoin is truly scarce.

Bitcoin is no stranger to strong retraces a few months prior to its respective Halving

These retraces also happen to be the first major corrections in a new Bitcoin Bull Market

Bitcoin has retraced 47% again

So you're saying we need to build a stablecoin on top of our personalities? Hm, interesting...

I tried to wrap my mind around how that would work... and it almost broke.

Brings this  to mind.....

"When the man marries the women, he thinks she will never change ....and she does.
When the women marries the man,  she thinks he will change... and he doesn't. "

Which begs the question: how is infofront's wife doing? Is she still subservient? (his word, not mine!)

I would think a year and a half in the states would be enough to make her spoiled. I know my girlfriend has developed something of an attitude after the same amount of time together, and we're still in the Philippines! At least she's still a good cook, when she does cook...
