I only got it in preparation for the next epic rise. I’ve only spent £100 worth of corn on it.

HairyMaclairy was giving some good advice a few weeks back. He told us to be a fucking boy scout, open as many bank accounts as you can, get registered on loads of exchanges, be prepared for the next bull run because it’s going to be life changing.

I’m KYC’d & ready for unlimited withdrawals on -

Localbitcoins
Stamp
Coinbase

I’ve got a Bittrex account, I’ve now got 4 fiat current accounts. I am ready!

Is Kraken any good?
Yes. Been using it for years now, never any problems. They have changed their design fairly recently which I am not a fan about, but I suppose it makes sense to try to appeal to a growing market of relative normies.

Basically, the situation I'm in is if I didn't have BTC to supplement my income I'd have a very sad life; never eating out, no holidays, no 'nice' things every-so-often.
I'm VERY lucky to have BTC. Very.

treating ourselves to something extra every now and then via btc i mined or bought is the deal i made with my wife when i 1st got into btc.

gotta take profits at some point. we certainly enjoyed our "upgrades." works for me as this all could still take a digger.

Maybe ironic the treat for myself way back was to spunk some money on bitcoins, its full circle.

Damn that's a nice job. This reminds me I need one of these real ones soon. Barely got any fiat left anymore, what's left is put aside for btfd Tongue
Cash is crap, but Bitcoin debit cards are great.

Edit: Is this the wrong round though...? Looks legit to me.

Not "maybe"... completely ironic I have tightened my expenses to absurd limits just for being able to hodling moar. When I could be spending way more than before (I have always been very frugal) I am spending even less than before. Ironic is even an understatement.

Is Kraken any good?

fuck Kraken in their tentacled face

-froze our account with almost no notice

-ran us through pointless KYC hoops, "support" was clueless, might as well have been flipping burgers, did not seem to believe that mining was a real thing.

-after weeks of support circular logic and being trapped in trades now gone bad due to locked account they finally figured out that the reason was that they were dropping support for our jurisdiction...a major tech heavy US state.

lost a lot of money there

Did they simply took your money and just tell you to fuck off?? :-O

I was forced to convert the entire account to BTC at a significant loss in a tight timeframe to move it off the platform.

The timing of these events was...not good.

Had "support" not had their heads fully inserted and had told us what was up at the beginning I would have had weeks to trade out in an orderly fashion...but no.

Incompetence or malice?  With Kraken you get to take your pick.  tm

I have told the story several times here, so my apologies to anyone bored by its repetition, but this account is the only revenge I get in this situation.  I am never going to shut up about it.

Much like polo for me, at the moment I needed to flip out a large amount of coin it was conveniently tied up for ages with dead air from support.

As I have said before it was all a bit too convenient all the exchanges froze everyone, while someone was making big money and a top.

Here's an interesting article for those scanning about Coronavirus news...

It is a clear demonstration of an inflationary economy of fiat money against Bitcoin.

Quote
In this table we see how much money would a person have now in $ if he/she would, in a given year (first column) buy BTC for $2 (average cup of coffee?) every day.

For example: if in 2012 somebody would buy every day BTC for $2 he/she could now sell it for ~$1M.

Thanks for sharing! Well I had a suspicion these Kraken guys suck. I suspect that while you're cashing out cents it's ok with them, once you switch to like 50-100 grand or more they could suspend your account.   Cool

I guess that any exchange who has been in the business for many years cannot completely suck. (thinking about bitstamp/kraken/the rock trading).

All the suckers have already been hacked/spoiled/gone bust in the past years.

Chinese are used to refuse to take insurances from companies younger than 200 years. Guess why: survivorship bias.
I think 7 years in crypto is the equialent of 200 years on fiat.

Man, days like this I wish I had the stones, knowledge, and luck to sell then re-buy. Just seems too much like gambling to me. OTOH, it does make me want to try and scare up as much fiat as I can to BTFD though I'll most likely just continue to DCA at my current levels. DCA may not have the adrenaline rush of executing a perfectly timed swing trade but I'll take it.
