I'll leave this here uncommented as it is yet not clear if it is actually a desastrous linux RCE bug affecting every single linux machine out there or simply a run-of-the-mill f*ckup in cups-browsed:

No fix yet plus criticalness plus uncertainty plus talk of example exploit equals nightmare

Details about an as-yet-non-public critical 9.9-out-of-10-severity unauthenticated remote-code execution vulnerability affecting all GNU/Linux systems could be revealed today.

..

In any case, linux sysadmins should keep their pagers charged and online (jokes about balls getting blown off accidentally intentionally skipped).

My bet right now is that the guy is hyping his findings up much, but you never know.

-> https://www.theregister.com/2024/09/26/unauthenticated_rce_bug_linux/ (<-best link explaining what is known and what no but the rumours are all over the place on mailing lists. twitter and whatnot).

The headline is big,but...

There's the thing:
Remove all services you don't need.

Also, don't connect servers directly to the internet. If you can, run virtual machines on decent hardware, the allow way more control and mirroring/restore capabilities.
...and don't trust anyone who is authenticated in your (private) networks. Majority of successful attacks originate inside private or shared networks.
The openSSH backdoor was way more serious, for example, also because it is much more widely used, compared to CUPS.

[Edited to add]: Sheesh, security seems now an influencer business, what a shit show. Thank you satoshi for freeing me from needing this shit for a living. This Margaritelli guy is a fucking twat.

Seems to be a Gen-X/Y/Z/whatever phenomenon?

Both are not good.... But isn't that a reason for a lot of people to vote for him?
is like American citizens picked the short straw in their presidential leading candidates.
People would vote for whose policy Would benefit them.
There are people that would enjoy from their different policy

I believe in Trump regime if he doesn't fuck up his support
It would be positive for the rich, investors and could even encourage Hodling
Since there won't be massive sell off to mitigate unrealised gain tax before its properly executed but
There would be lots of Scam on digital currency and he might even support some as long as it nets money

While Harris though Would have been a better choice, has already started pushing for policy that would affect quite some important individuals.
Though she said and I quote "We will encourage innovative technologies like AI and digital assets, while protecting investors and consumers."
I still see stringent policy against Cryptocurrency since its like an after thought and should be to get some of Trumps supporters.

I would have support Trump like with a faith, But He always gives me this feel of a Crook Tyrant.
While Harris, She reminds me of Heroes who think they doing something Good when they are not (bias).

Besides which politician could be considered Good, just have to pick the lesser evil or one that would benefit you.
Honestly though, Thank God I'm not a US citizen this period.

Q4 around the corner which is historically a very bullish period in halving years. The series of lower highs has been stopped as we passed $65,200.

It’s nearly time gentlemen, it’s nearly time.
