I don't know if there is any way to estimate the liquidity of the largest CEXs
most spot BTC ETFs use the custodial service of a well-known CEX
all these coins actually just move from one wallet to another
but remain in the possession of one and the same company.

I have been having my doubts that there would be any exact shock
if the price suddenly doubles
supply is going to come available.

the custodian (Coinbase or whatever) is going to end up in BIG trouble if they don't have the coins that they claim to have...

I wonder if these big companies even understand how much risk there is in custodial services?
In case something goes wrong
do you think that will lead to CB, Black Rock and some other companies simply deciding to fork BTC?

They have some language in their ETF contracts stating that in the case of a fork, they reserve the right to choose the "legit" branch to follow.

However, I don't think they have the power to fork btc alone. We've seen something like this happening with the blocksize wars. Holders, miners, nodes - there's kind of a balance of power at play here. If they do fork and their fork doesn't get validated by a sufficient number of nodes, it's going to be hard to uphold that in court. I doubt they want to come to that. Just a hunch from a non-expert in game theory, a non-lawyer; rather, a holder with skin in the game, so not really objective probably, but still.

I really need to figure out how to not be so cheap, as... well... I can't take it with me!!

You and me both, man. I'm learning, but it's a slow process.

I hope that this month the expectations of at least another 30% growth will be justified. Not that this will be who-knows-what. If someone had told me, especially after the good news about the ETF and that Bitcoin will become the national reserve of the US and many other countries, that the year growth would be only 32%, while at the same time gold would be 46%, I would have considered them crazy. But here we are. I recently had a conversation with a person who is poor and ignorant in every aspect. He was lecturing me that the Chinese were developing a supercomputer with which they would erase Bitcoin. He advised me to buy physical gold and hide it in a safe at home. Yes, unfortunately people are so stupid that they cannot realize elementary things. First, there is no place to hide a safe so that robbers cannot find it with a metal detector, for example. Second, no matter how strong it is, even amateurs can open it in just a few minutes. Third, when I travel, how will I load these bars and transport them safely and securely? The other day there was a major flood in our seaside resorts. One of them, Elenite, turned out to be built in a riverbed. In seconds, a 4-meter wave came, which swept away cars, flooded houses and took 4 lives. In one of the houses there was a safe with money and gold, which was dragged into the sea. For 2 days now, people have been walking along the coast collecting bills, and the company that owns the safe has hired divers to look for it. In comparison, you carry Bitcoin in your head and you have access to your money everywhere. But apparently people are stupid and prefer to invest in something they can touch, stroke and enjoy, like Scrooge McDuck or Smaug.

Excellent use of an ad blocker! Never would have thought of this. Kudos!

Not of much use to me (my Ignore List is empty, and will likely stay that way), but I applaud the ingenuity.

@LFC_Bitcoin

The $150k is not longer a much of a target....
Did you make any new discovery while I was away because $125k today seems like $24k apart is too small to be touched.

I’ve been in this game a long time. When people start telling you we are going to 2x or 3x that’s when you know it’s time to sell some.

Nobody thought $69,000 could be the top last cycle, but it was. Moonboys calling for $400,000 a coin this year can have fun being my exit liquidity.

$150,000 to $170,000 is a very realistic top in my opinion. It takes a lot of money to move the market that much even though % wise it’s not what we saw in the peak 2017 bull year and 2013 peak bull year. We don’t get those type of % gains any more.

I actually sold some Friday night @ $121,000 and I will continue to dump some throughout Q4. Next sell hopefully over $130,000.

If it did fly to $200,000 or higher I will just sell more. I can’t lose, my average buy price is ridiculously low. I will of course try to buy back cheap during the next bear market.

Bros, what's up with this ATH pimple?
Must be selling from someone around here?
lol

...it's temporary, imho, but it would be amusing if our ATH would be measured in hours instead of days/weeks.

It is important to know the complete siginified, perhaps, who knows if it is important to know?

Trolling –
(verb), ''as it relates to internet, is the deliberate act, (by a Troll – noun or adjective), of making random unsolicited and/or controversial comments on various internet forums with the intent to provoke an emotional knee jerk reaction from unsuspecting readers to engage in a fight or argument
Trolling on-line forums as described above is actually analogous to the fishing technique of “trolling”, where colorful baits and lures are pulled behind a slow moving boat, often with multiple fishing lines, covering a large bodies of water, such as a large lake or the ocean. The trolling lures attract unsuspecting fish, intriguing them with the way they move through the water, thus enticing these foolish fish to “take the bait”. Not unlike unsuspecting internet victims, once hooked, the fish are reeled in for the catch before they realize they have been duped by the Troll/Fisherman
This guy made a really rude and off the wall comment about my You Tube video, I think he was just trolling for a response, but I ignored him''

Plonk.

I have to add that two out of three of my children/teenagers with ADHD are regularly insulting me when i remind them of their boundaries and limits, or sometimes simply just normal parenting stuff, and those wordings are certainly not for the faint hearted. You have no idea really. But it was actually training me not really reacting to mean words, also making me understand that the people losing it and swearing at someone are those that suffer/feel bad and just try to load it off verbally. Additionally, these particular two children are deeply sorry for their words ten minutes after every time and they always come back to me and apologize for giving me hell, tell me that they love me etc.

On the other hand, me actually using the ignore list (and filtering the show/hide link) really is kind of going berserk   Shocked

It is important to know the complete siginified, perhaps, who knows if it is important to know?

Hey, i didn't know that trolling actually came from the fishing technique. I always assumed that it came from the personality of a (mythical) Troll.
To be fair, Justin Timberlake may have changed that mean Troll image with those colorful, hairy, innocent main characters with the making of the "Trolls" trilogy.

Yeah, I realized that's why I was so triggered; he was doing it on purpose... Ruining our lil ATH funzies.... It has been so long since we have had someone non-genuine here that I let my guard down...
It was a nice lil reminder to keep on my toes!

Though, i wished it would be possible to use (Perl) regular expressions, so completely blocking the post (html table row) on a per-nickname basis is in the scope of a future solution. Maybe i'll find a suitable browser plugin for this, but the adblocker will do for now.

Finally, it's here.
The first UPtober Sunday,
Off to a great start!

A new ATH,
Confirming the expected.
Euphoric moments!

The cosmos concurs.
Auroras up in the sky.
Homer's happy hour!

No matter the price,
No one sells their entire stash.
We ain't no mindrust!

Will he ever learn?
ETFs are not Bitcoin.
They're meant for sissies!

Please, stop feeding them.
Apply the silent treatment,
Till they self-eject!

Feeling ecstatic!
We are all so blessed! Sheeeit!
Hugs and kisses, Bob!
