it's been awhile since i've posted in this thread, and this question has no doubt been asked/posted and answered already. But, hope you can understand why i'm not going to even go back 1 page in this thread to find the answer how come the btc price hasn't really been affected since bitstamps news came out?

1/4 14h the last big movement occurred. some mop-up ensued until 1/5 08h, after which it looks like people were sending millibits in order to mark the coins.
Funny, I had mistakenly assumed that the hoard would be immediately laundered. WTF are they thinking?

If someone robbed the NY Fed, and made off with 0.1% of the USD supply, do you think it would crash the dollar? It sure wouldn't do it any good, and there would definitely be an exploitable spike in FX rates -- and exploiting it well would move a lot more $$$ than the robbery did. But it would all be business as usual the next day.

guess what, a ton of people were selling coins on loan on Bitswamp (that is how they manipulated the price so low over the last 6 months) ... and now bitswamp has conveniently 'lost' coins ... i.e. the swamp is net short of coins.
go figure, it is not rocket science, someone has been selling non-existent coins and the swamp administered it. Good luck to anybody willing to deal with the swamp, you'll need it.

Yes!!!!! Your observations seem to be very logical and grounded in facts,.... NOT.... And, Marcus of Augustus, how is the receptivity in your tin foil hat? Are you getting other vibes regarding the ways of the bitcoin world about which you would like to share with us?

Are you getting other vibes regarding the ways of the bitcoin world about which you would like to share with us? oh, yeah goldfoil working great. Are we going to have yet another parade of apologists for a broken exchange trotted out every so often with the usual BS "just trust us", "everything's fine" ... Swamp only has to redeem the small percentage of rubes who actually ask for their coinz back until ... hey what's that!!? nup sorry all coinz gone chaps ... ta-ta. man, people are stupid, they deserve every exchange rip-off they get.

does anyone else experience this 'gray rectangle' problem? it occurs only in this thread as far as I can tell. looks like some chrome bug in relation to images. Yes. Only Chrome, usually this thread and usually animations/many images on a page involved. This on a Samsung Chromebook if it makes a difference.

Should we pretty much expect a crash when bitstamp comes back online (and when should we expect them back up)? Will we go sub $200? We're not only in the innovator stage but the early innovator stage!
Well I have to admit the bitstamp mess woke me up again for a bit Back to speculation well Sub 200 is back to 2013 before the last rally to 1000 dollars in words Route to Origin Whether we go back to that or not will be something I'm not sure of myself would like to say that year over year this one will be positive but ... not a good start so far.
