I missed those type of gifs and imgaes for a long time here. Bottom is close I guess (and hope). If I would have some cash on stamp I would buy soon. Possibly we reached a point where 500% gains in no time are possible again?! Just speculating, don´t listen to me if you are not sure what to do.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

No. Crypto isn't done.

But Bitcoin is.

Bitcoin will drag everyone down with it. But crypto will survive.

We need a crypto that can serve humanity's needs for the next 100 years. Bitcoin cannot do this. It's unfortunate that Bitcoin has died, but it has to be this way. Bitcoin achieved so much. No other crypto would be where it is today without the achievement of Bitcoin.

Requiescat in pace.

It's a particularly apt photo, because I really like the steam engine analogy.

Bitcoin:

Next-gen crypto (I purposely am not naming names for fear of being accused of flaming):

I love old steam engines. Great sense of nostalgia. We wouldn't have high speed trains without steam.

But you can't transport the world's population on steam!

Nor is Bitcoin a currency suitable for the modern world (either today or in 100 years' time!!!)

Has anyone ever considered it may be the very people that print the dollars that dump bitcoin?

More food for thought:  Central banksters created Bitcoin to discredit their detractors.

Tinfoil hat on:
NSA created it and released it to undermine economies by offering their citizens a way of opting out after external pressure is applied.

Wowie. This is a big thread. I have a question or two. I see there are thousands of alternate block chains cluttering cyberspace, so what's so special about Bitcoin and why should I support it instead of the others?

I've bought some coins today under $200, always love to buy when there's blood in the streets. Grin

They are not alternates. Block chains are not interchangeable.

It's nothing but a gut call. If you're gonna stay long, no better time than this. If you're gonna short, wait a bit. Wink

Just like with $300, for lots of people sub $200 is their uncle point and will prepare to sell. What we've seen today so far are stops being triggered and maybe margin call stop outs. I don't think big % of cold storage coins even moved yet. Dunno. Will see. Just talking my book here...

I've been looking at these chart patterns for years and this is not a trend reversal pattern. It may go up a little but then another wave of selling will bring it back.

Of course the opposite strategy may work: nobody (myself included) thinks this is a good time to buy, which is why it may be.
