I will be officially impressed when that happens even if we got a wee boost from GBP's hopelessness. haha true, BTC could stay right where it is until our beloved prime minister triggers article 50. |

Ya if you keep your fixed BTC rate your customers will go pay cash somewhere else.... cheaper than the fixed rate in BTC. Somewhere along the line you do need to compensate for your rates when BTC was low and you took the hit. I would reward myself a little extra for as long as you can, after all, the miners you maintain would not benefit the owners if they were not running  Well, this is true to an extent: Technically the skills needed to fix these things are limited and as the value of bitcoin rises the value of repairing a miner rises as well. That was the logic I used to not raise prices when it was at $300; the miners were worth "less" therefore I should not charge the same amount in dollars since I'm trying to work the concept of value into bitcoin. That said when it hit 900 I started decreasing my prices to compensate for the "new normal" instead of $600. I could re-price again at $1200, but at some point the constant re-framing of prices becomes a bit of a pain. Thus it would be nice for bitcoin to stick at a price for awhile. :-) C maybe you should stick your price to hash power/generated btc per machine...like 10% of it...it is not like the miners make less money just because the price is rising...quite the contrary |

maybe you should stick your price to hash power/generated btc per machine...like 10% of it...it is not like the miners make less money just because the price is rising...quite the contrary
*THAT* is a good idea, and honors the fact that this is a bitcoin to bitcoin transaction, not some fiat fiat using bitcoin like Amex or Western Union or greasy bits of paper. I'll see how I can approach this. |

it's doing something weird. i have to manually refresh or i don't get updates. must be a coping mechanism to deal with all the extra load. It's exactly the same for me, I have to refresh it every time I want to know the latest price. At least bitcointalk's holding up to all the extra load. |

Yep - one here Spooder. That would be fantastic. The crazy thing is, I've tried to explain bitcoin to quite a few people over the last few years. Some have nodded approvingly - but most have been sceptical. But none that I know of have acquired any BTC. I'm watching this rise on my own (so to speak) The one I'm waiting for is $1163 on stamp. And I'm starting to think I might see it before 23:59 GMT. I have spent so much time watching the price over the festive period its embarassing. |

Could you please elaborate this for me more please buddy. As I've someone well-informative like you said something similar to you, he said that as time goes on, the increments will increase like for example, $900 per day. Is that true ? If yes, how ? I don't understand the economics or the science behind it ? |

Me too. Got into LTC around August 2013. At one point had 3 rigs running 4X7970 then R290X. Made a tidy sum as LTC approached the dizzying hieghts of £50 a coin! Got out of the game after about 6 months whilst the GPUs still had residual value and sold all the kit for around 60% cost price. The money I made mining during this time well exceeded the shortfall in sale price and electricity consumption. At that point I converted to BTC (just as well as LTC started tanking soon after). From then on I began purchasing BTC whenever the price seemed low and while I still believed that the technology would prevail. I had some dark days and panic sold on some occasions but soon bought back when I saw things began to pick up. At one point I remember thinking that I would hold out even if it went to zero since cashing out at that time wouldn't really produce anything worthwhile and I didn't need the money at that time. Boy am I glad I HODLed!!!! I am almost peeing myself watching my savings increase so rapidly. I have since learnt to sell in small amounts on the way up at increments of around 8 to 10% and to buy back the same amount when price drops between 8 and 10%. I am loving BTC at the moment ;-) |

Only managed to convince one person over the entire time (some 3 and a half years now) to buy and he has the princely sum of 1.25BTC!!! |
