speaking of falling, might see faaallllling back at this rate.

If you don't behave yourself igorr will appear with his favourite chart of the downtrend.

Fuck, how can it go so low on these news?

It should of been a flash crash. To me, it seems those news had substance behind them :/

Nah... the news is just a convenient coincidence... maybe the news may exacerbate a little bit on the margins, but in the end it is just a matter of attempting to create momentum and some whales possibly having a lot of coins to dump (I don't know from where they are getting the coins, but that may be another story)... my point is that this dump is not so out of the normal, partly because we had a three month increase in price (from lower $600s to mid-$1,100s) with hardly any correction.

ive been logged into bitstamp since 1 hour in uk
no problems with trading

No problem with any other sites - but still can't get into Stamp - have fiat there and want to get in...!

Bitstamp said if you change your DNS server to Google ( 8.8.8.8 ), it will work as a temporary solution. Have you tried that?

Thanks for that I used both 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4 and Ive got Stamp back up just in time to find all my buy orders from 792 to 831 filled. Shit I could have done better had I been able to log in. Do you think this was deliberate?

Yes. PBOC waited for Bitstamp to be unavailable.

I'd be suprised if 666 holds to be honest. 1154 to 800, this hurts.

Well it does make you think that if the majority of trading is happening in China then being held to ransom by the PBOC is to be expected.
If Bitcoin and the traders alike can stomach this and it can survive then its onwards and upwards.
Until adoption is widespread enough (read beyond China's borders) then this is to be expected.
Doesn't stop it from hurting though as I am feeling it too.

if someone opened a zero fee exchange in lapland then that would become the world centre of bitcoin trading. tons of traders on the chinese exchanges will be from the west.

it's time china was dealt with once and for all. the current setup does not do bitcoin's future any good.
