So in hindsight you all knew everything. Now it's a guessing game. Roll Eyes

Why will nobody admit they know nothing?

I didn't know.

Then again, I never thought much about it. Not like it was central to my existence or anything.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

So who the fuck is mark Cuban
He tweets And bitcoin falls poeple belive HIM???
Damn those naïef poeples who is holding bitcoin 😓😓😓

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=mark+cuban

anyway...is the $3000 party this week or next?

We are only $76 below today's ATH. The dip today was only a small correction, probably from the Chinese taking profits after breaking 20000 CNY for the first time today. We might get a few more before it breaks $3000. Nobody knows when the $3000 party is, but it seems very close. The Chinese are already having their 20000 CNY party.

A 2 day old article, but I thought the author articulated very well the three main factors of Bitcoin speculation and what makes it a great long term play for store of value.

hold guys hold. once btc hits 3,000 USD, i will see the headlines in major news sites which will give a pump to right away to 3500. since it is a nice number BTC is 3,000 for the first time in headline in cnbc or cnn would be a nice pump for holders. so closeee Smiley the media effect is on the way.

You total have that backwards dude. Every time the media prints a new headline like "Bitcoin breaks XX for the first time, new ATH!" or some shit, esp. a round number like $1000, $2000, etc. it immediately dumps a few days later.

Every. Single. Time.

Bitcoin is in a bubble when you have Japanese housewives talking about how "grateful they are to find bitcoin scheme because Japanese pensions are failing", but Mark Cuban is a snake that changed his communist Jewish last name (Chabenisky) to pretend to be another race and then shill against white interests while pretending to be white (or implied "cuban").  All you had to do is watch his actions of constant shilling against Trump during the 2016 election to see international organized Jewery in full force shilling against everything they don't control.

Congratulation everybody, we are rich.

It is very demotivating for me to come into work when in one day I made more money than almost 2 years salary.

Fortunately it's government work so I don't have to do much. And my boss is nice and I have respect for the people in my company (CEO is an old friend).

You should re-read what you just typed, because there's probably hundreds of people reading your post who have had the exact same feeling with some altcoin before, then they tried to ride the profits higher and they vaporized taking them back to square one.  The fact is, the second any type of life changing profits occur in any asset, the price always craters right after.  What % bitcoin can rise in a short duration before said action occurs is up for debate though.  Having any type of life changing profit occur and then not taking any profit off the table is the definition of insanity.

Profit in what? A currency that will likely go away in the next 10 years due to a debt bubble and more wars?

I stay at work mainly because it allows me to continue my high risk investment without worry of starving if it goes to zero. If I were to quit I would buy real estate or something that will sustain me for decades.

Unfortunately, I am nowhere near feeling that this awesome rise is "life changing." Probably because I've only been dicking around with cryptocurrencies for the past two years with chump change. My hats off to those who are now rich. Just remember to quit while you are ahead. Cool

I understand that the rise in price is due to many fiat lovers trying to get more fiat but that's just not me. Bitcoin is the superior currency. It will do more to help the world than anything else being worked on right now.

If you have a day job that sustains you, and you have tens, hundreds or even thousands of btc, then "taking profit" on them now will be a huge regret 5 to 10 yrs from now.

If in just 8.5 years a bitcoin can go from $0 to $3000, with 99.99% percent of the world not even invested yet, then surely it has plenty of room to run to $20K, $50K, or whatever in the next 8 years. It is not inconceivable in the least.

And you keep blabbering on about it having a chance to "go to zero." Not a chance now, no way. I'd wager that even if a 0 day, network-killing flaw was found tomorrow, bitcoin would still not go to zero.

You've already reached the peak of risk in your high risk investment.  Anyone can click the 2 year chart and see that.  It's an obvious unsustainable bubble and anyone cashing out here will not be missing much.  I imagine it will do something like a 50% retrace off it's base, which would take it to something like $2100, but the pumpers may or may not try to take it a few hundred higher first.  This is literally a textbook pump and dump and it's easy to see from the non-aggregate market movements.  Bitcoin has probably never once behaved as an aggregate market.  Every single move is just some entity like Digital Currency Group trying to manipulate it in a certain direction to profit.

I remember when the price shot up to 60 dollars when I had bought at 20, all my friends at work were saying I should sell. Calling me crazy for not selling as it went over 100.

I will diversify into Seasteading later this year as I see that as the next world changing technology that I believe in.

Who sold at the bottom?

I didn't sell yet, my friend sold his 100BTC today though - he bought them when they were worth 1USD - he's pretty happy with his investment

These kinds of stories never make any sense to me.

I can understand cashing out little by little, but what you gonna do with your money if you cash out all of them?

O.k... ?  Around $280 k and mostly profit.. but, still where you gonna put it?  just blow it all?

I can understand cashing out 20% and going on a vacation or something like that.

I know several people who are very similar to you.

They do not invest, and they continue to tell people to pull out their principle, protect themselves, protect themselves, so yeah, I don't know at what point you kind of people get in.  Maybe once 30 to 40% of the world are in, then you will get in?

Anyhow, sometimes we have to invest a bit and then just stay the course and just write off our principle.

Yeah, nothing wrong with cashing out a bit here and there to protect ourselves, but we should not be so narrow sighted as to be worried about retrieving our principle because we may end up leaving ourselves under-invested in a highly appreciating asset.
