Well whats fun about this nonsense is that I'm getting BTC-E money now. Its like $10 above gox. Not only do I get arbitrage monies, but I also get $$ in BTC-E which is worth more than $$$ in gox.

Do you have the m-code? ... I can plot those as 3-d rendered surfaces that evolve in time if you like ... or as a movie too.

The data is freely available from Gox. I can post up the code I use to get it if you want. It's pretty simple.

You obviously haven't checked btc-e price these days... since initial crash started btc-e is usually 2-3 dollars above mtgox. it's always like that during crashes. I missed the sell off because my funds were there  Roll Eyes

What if instead of 3d, you did it 2d, like your if that 3d graph was viewed from top-down straight, but coloring the bid and ask with red and green, varying the intensity (or brightness) instead of moving up and down, and coloring the "channel" between both sides in blue (also with intensity/brightness, but in proportion to how much it changed from the previous range)?

I did consider that. I may give it a try later.

Apologies that times are in Central. I'll get them turned to UTC as soon as I can.

Highly complex data capture code. Keep your criticisms to yourself :p

Quote
#!/usr/bin/perl
#
require LWP::UserAgent;
use Data::Dumper;
use DBM::Deep;
use FindBin;
$progdir=$FindBin::Bin;
my $db = DBM::Deep->new("$progdir/foo.db");
my $body='';
my $ua = LWP::UserAgent->new;
my $link='http://data.mtgox.com/api/1/BTCUSD/depth/fetch';
$response=$ua->get($link);
  $con=$response->content();
  my  ($sec,$min,$hour,$mday,$mon,$year,$wday,$yday,$isdst) = localtime(time);
  open $FH, ">",  "$progdir/data/$hour.$min";
  print $FH $con;
  close $FH;

It runs from a cron job every minute. Much of this is old code and should be removed. This could also be done using wget if that's your preference.

Gah, the asks are piling up again. For a little while, I actually thought the market might be making a reversal. Sad

Why are you sad? The lower it goes, the more you can buy with the money you got by selling high!  Grin

I wish I just left all damn thing today for that reason. Yesterday was great day and today could be wonderful but being very, very tired I made loads of little mistakes, missed so many chances and if it goes up I've screwed all good thing from last few days. Should have just leave it when I noticed first signs of lack of concentration.

I don't mind losing money, that's the game, you win or lose, but I fucking hate missing chances to make it. And last 15-20 hours there were tons of chances to bank hard.

Hehe, I had a nap, I'm ok, though it was too late..

I was serious, it's not a big money I deal with and I'm ok with losing it, like going to sleep or out, come back and see it gone, nothing I could do. But when I'm there and I miss chance to make money, that's awful, and that's what separate those who make success and those who don't - not missing chances when they're in front of you.

Earlier today I was on all time high with coins, I still have a chance to reach it again, who knows, it's few dollars up and down (though how things were happening in last 10 hours I could be on chicken farm and not find a single egg, all that could go wrong decided to go that way and guy who was whispering me the great things yesterday suddenly started to take a piss of me) but I'll never have a chance to be now on even bigger ATH and wait for a chance to improve it further and to have a great position for my level of investment.

Hope you understand now  Grin could be a day to launch my stuff very good for future but looks like will be the one who'd hold me on same mediocre level. It's like you're football player and play an awful match when scouts are there to watch you and offer you better contract in bigger club.

Few large ask walls left. Big coin dump coming or they are throwing in the towel. Should be moving back up soon. Nice time to buy. Smiley
