Hm?  Even though you make some decent points, you are reading the wrong sources if you think that, currently, we are in a dot.com bubble - however, it does not hurt to skim a little bit of profits off the top as we continue to go

That said I remember afterwards when we measured AAPL stock in BTUs. In other words, how many BTUs of heat it would generate if you burned it.

AAPL is worth a tad bit more now. Thus it is with bitcoin IMO.

Yeah, sure seems to be a good analogy when we are talking about the crypto market overall or ICOs or alts, but I think that you need to apply some different conceptual tools if you want to understand bitcoin dynamics.

I don't proclaim to have any kind of future prognostication skills, but I do prepare for both up and down, and surely we will see if I go some kind of bankrupt merely because I have my bitcoin holdings of 90% in bitcoin and 10% in fiat and Let's say a bit more than 60% of my total quasi-liquid investments into bitcoin, as compared with various dollar based investments, including various stocks and bonds and other dollar based index funds.

I think that I am going to be fine - as compared with some of those wanna get rich ICO pumpers who were investing 90% or more of their crypto into assets other than bitcoin.. hoping to get rich quick and short-sightedly thinking that they missed the bitcoin train..

Weird there's still so much confidence in alts. There was a sea change in their behaviour when they ate the world this year. They have nothing to show for it really. Has Dash made the world a better place?

Maybe there'll be a sea change back when Bitcoin whups their pert arses back into line.

Indeed, but there comes a point where it's an emperor's new clothes situation. A two billion dollar Dash is just about convincing enough to the mugs on exchanges without needing to actually achieve anything.

Ten or twenty billion dollars does kind of need a little bit of a reason to justify itself or you wind up with everyone thinking 'hang on' and then it all collapses. Maybe I'm now a man out of time but I don't see how much further you can take pure hot air.

I"m in this long term. I am .how should I say this? Boring as heck.....thus no real reason to pull any of my HODL BTC out ....

I SUSPECT what will happen is ...or could......BTC could hit 10k on the segwit2+2mb fork hype...and whatever the outcome (likely a draw)

the price would rapidly go back 1/3

However, I have no skills on guessing such stuff..thus I HODL..if I had been guessing such stuff I'd have sold at at about 4.5k and be crying right now

so...let BTC have its fun in the sun and go up and adjust

imho, AN ATH WILL ALWAYS BE EXCEEDED AS LONG AS BTC (or a stock of a company say) EXISTS....IT MAY TAKE 2 MONTHS TO BEAT THE ATH OR 10 YEARS

BUT CONTINUED EXISTANCE AND ADOPTION OF BITCOIN (or say the company product or stock) INTO THE FUTURE...EVEN WITH INFLATION ASSURES THE ATH WILL BE BEAT! (again imho)

so, if we get ADOPTION IN MASS, all is well...if not ...well, they say in life you are supposed to plant a tree, write a book, make a fortune/lose a fortune....well

all I need to do now is write a book....(likely a diary of tears if this all goes tulips) ah well, just think of the great nursing home stories I can tell in the commons.....

30 years from now! (eventually if lucky, we all end up there with a toothbrush, ratty robe and slippers....stories will be the currency of choice in the nursing home
