but...can it really go parabolic-er?

Sure when you see $1000 move in one day. That is not sustainable so would be healthier for the rise to be slower but you deal with the reality.

Oh my gawwwddds can u imagine 1000$ swings like riding a bull babbbhyyyy!!!

wave 5 complete      Sad

Fine. Can we have our 3 wave correction now JUST SO YOU'LL SHUT UP ABOUT WAVE 5 ALREADY FOR FUCK SAKES ?!???

https://medium.com/@mcasey0827/speculative-bitcoin-adoption-price-theory-2eed48ecf7da

The article above claims that there have been about 5 or so hype cycles. Would you agree that just before the UASF hard fork, that correction was a part of another short term Bubble /  Gartner Hype Cycle? I am very intrigued how the S-Curve of Technological adoption cause larger and bigger short term bubble on the way up. If we went back to $60 billion market cap for bitcoin with next month as a part of correction, then do we go to $200 billion next? Then $450 billion after that correction?

Löl. Did you know that '≠`? And that a brick is actually neuter, not male? And that English is spelled with an upper case "E"?

whoah nelly. Lloyd Blankfein begins to understand consensus and ... and bitcoin.

Sounds like he didn't get the memo from the Illuminati like Jamie Dimon did :-)

Trouble is if your account is hacked you need to come back as a newbie. I am one of many even though i could prove ownership of my original account through bitcoin signing the admins didn’t even rrspond once to my many inquiries.

That is troubling. Had you previously registered a Bitcoin addy with your profile, from which you could sign a statement? And if so, did the mods just ignore ?

Yep. Not a peep from Theymos or Cyrus.
This was the link I sent to them
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg21177226#msg21177226
And the message I sent them was signed with the same BTC address.
Go figure?

Bitcoin is not a bubble ... Bitcoin, it's people.
With real money and that, it's new for all.

Reach 10k$ before the end of 2017.

So I was thinking this morning. And I realized one way to boost the price of bitcoin is to increase overall demand in the general populace. Then it hit me:

How about offering a service where when a loved one dies you can buy a bitcoin for the ferryman across the river Styx? The bitcoin is purchased, then on the day of the funeral the key for the bitcoin is burned, thus sending it to the afterlife.

Hey, it's like being buried with your grave goods and it increases the value of remaining bitcoins.

I am a little afraid to say this, but I have a 401k plan that has a really decent amount of money in it and more than 15 years of building; however, in early 2017, my BTC investment was on parity with it and even surpassed it and even now is getting to be like 4x the value of my 401k plan with way less amount of money placed into bitcoin over a much shorter period of time.

#justsayin'

Thanks for the link.

I was just comparing performance of my traditional investments, such as a big one that I already established many years ago (hahahaha established close to 17 years, ago)   to my BTC investment - but I am not really interested, at the moment, in diversifying any of my current assets into such a self-directed Bitcoin IRA - even though it would likely be appealing to some thread readers.

I can barely imagine how much cream would've poured out of everyone's knickers if that was posted in any year other than this one.

As it stands, it's a little silly that a completely logical stance is lauded, but that goes to show the calibre of the average detractor.
