TBH, I was hoping for the $10k USD/BTC momentum to keep going so I can retire earlier, but, alas, back to HODLING and the cattle grind I go...
Well we got a new bottom just now 6588.  Cry

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

17% 20% drop from the ATH and 9% 10% for today - come on, is this all you got bears?  Grin We've been through 42% drops from the ATH and 30% for one day (3-4 times this year!), so this is a ridiculous attempt to scare hodlers  Cool Cool

Bitcoin. Cool

I think this weekend will be a bloody one for BTC. BCH fork incoming the 13th, and B2X causing uncertainity of the supposed fork on the 15th, so it seems now is correction time.
Anyways, prepare your buy orders for next week  Grin

Some posters here, seem to think that you just accept that these fucking attackers have been acting in good faith in order to "improve" bitcoin, which should be obvious, for the most part, that they are not acting in good faith

Light Pollution in the U.S. alone: 120 terawatt-hours/year

Bitcoin Network: 11 terrawatt-hours/year (??)

CERN Hadron Collider:  1.3 terrawatt-hours/year

Interesting figures - thanks.

shit guys we better up our game this is what we're up against

I know not whether to be mirthful or appalled.

Bitcoin only has to try remaining decentralized and trustless and serve its function for social scaling and reaching consensus.  One can then build payment/credit/derivative layers on top as per Exeter's pyramid.

Don't say that three times - you'll wake r0ach.

Who sold at the bottom?

where is the bottom?

Looks like Roach was right guys. Should I buy 100 pounds of gold to carry around with me as I travel the world instead of bitcoins?

Might be hard to break a gold coin. Perhaps you should also travel with 1000 pounds of silver just to be safe.

Yeah and a few barrels of crude oil.  You can trade that almost anywhere.

you can but isn't the price like 2x lower in middle east countries?

I would love to see the math on 2x lower Wink

replace 2x with "2 times" if you're confused

I know what 2x means...  So 2x less is negative 1 which means people are being paid the price of a barrel of oil when buying a barrel of oil in the middle east?  It must be an attempt to bankrupt other oil producing companies that don't operate out of the middle east.  Now I get it!   Damn Saudis.

I do not know about you people but I am not afraid. We had this before, we suffered many times and we have grown stronger since then. From what I see around this is dumb money (weak hands, noobs) being eaten by sharks who are buying lower.

BCH is no better than LTC hence I am not afraid.

Carolina goes for Bitcoin.

Good volatility today - I'm not worried either - nice to have a good bit of market turmoil - the part of my trading model that doesn't HODL depends upon it =)

If you still hold the same number of BCH and BTC, the total value of both of them hasn't changed much today.
