Just going through all the shitfork coins to see if I can increase my BTC stash.
Looks like the majority of them can't be exchanged on any exchanges due to various reasons (non functioning wallets etc).
Does anyone have a list of which coins are actively trading and can be deposited at which exchange?
Would be much appreciated.

Yes please that’d be great. I don’t have an android phone so I haven’t been able to claim my bitcoin gold still through the Coinimi wallet.

You can get a brand new android phone from China on ebay for 40 bucks and free shipping, I just bought one to keep my free coins in. Will start to claim after Bitcoin Atom's snapshot on 25/26 this month.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultrathin-5Android-5-1-Quad-Core-2G-8G-4G-GSM-Bluetooth-WiFi-Dual-Smart-phone/222764422358?hash=item33ddcb54d6:m:mpEJ82Tk8SCS3joqufkdiXg

I have to suggest that it is not a good idea to use a china no-brand android phone for anything crypto related. Most of those phones have customized firmware that is not subjected to as strong scrutinity as well-known brands/models.

I hear people say that all the time, "they have viruses", "they report to a Chinese database" and so on.
But no one ever explains how that is related to crypto, and I have never heard of one single example of someone loosing their money to a Chinese database through a built in virus or software.
Yes, they might track my position, so what? I'm only using free wifi from a local store. They might keep track of my contacts and apps, good luck, I have no contacts or apps on that phone, I don't even have a phone number on that phone. I have nothing but three cryptocurrency apps.
Stop being so scared of everything.

Take with a grain of salt.

I'm sure as an investment their rating system will give Bitcoin a C- or D, everything else will get an F.

And the market analysts will say, "See? Told ya so." and pat themselves on the back.

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@emmalore/bitcoin-weiss-ratings-raport

I think I called it. They gave it a C+.  Tongue  Roll Eyes

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@emmalore/bitcoin-weiss-ratings-raport

And I think the ETH rating is garbage. They're just pushing people to a pre-mined and elite controlled crapcoin.

Be careful of cheap android phones from ebay and amazon. Some of them have viruses installed on them by the manufacturers themselves, or along the supply chain.

The last thing you want your smartphone doing is sending your text messages, contacts, and location history to a server in China. But according to mobile security firm Kryptowire, a particularly nasty brand of Android software did just that, transmitting text, data, call, location, and app data to a Chinese server every 72 hours.

Researchers began to raise red flags last fall, when it was discovered the the data mining tool in question — called Adups — had been living inside hundreds of millions of devices produced by more than 40 manufacturers

There are other viruses pre-installed in some android phones besides the one in that story.

So what?

Give me an example where that is relevant to cryptocurrencies.
An actual example where something happened to that persons cryptos because of those viruses, not any made
up theorthical "this or that might happen if the moon is partially clouded while you accidentally walk backwards while seeing a stray cat hunting,"

Do you want to store private keys, and/or enter passwords on a compromised device which may have a keylogger etc?

I would, at the very least, want to make sure I could flash this device with LineageOS or something, though this would not mitagate every single OpSec issue...

Why not just get a Trezor for about twice the cost?

Can you download Coinomi, Bither and Bitpie and then claim your forks on a Trezor?

SatoshiLabs has to first add Trezor support for the new forked coins, as they have with past forks such as BCash and BitcoinGold. But once they have done that, you should be able to claim and send your forked coins anywhere you wish.

They have rules around what Bitcoin forks they will support though:

I was hoping not to have to install special instrumentation like wireshark.

Well, wireshark is about as universal a network analysis tool as exists.

BTW, 8333 is for bitcoind. LN uses a different port (can't recall right now).

Exactly. Filter out all 8333 and what are you left with? Traffic not to/from your validating client - which I believe was what you were looking for in your query.
I'd be left with the rest of the traffic - which isn't LN alone. I'd better filter to select LN traffic only. But that's a minor detail.

True, true. But your question was how to avoid cluttering the LN packets with bitcoind packets. Filtering port 8333 would do that. I assume that other background processing would be negligible. Unless you're seeding torrent at the same time or somesuch. And admittedly, I don't know the default LN port(s) either.

So in other news, it appears that the moneybadger coalition successfully defended the 9-4RP2 keepstar from the goonswarm/imperium last night in the largest online battle that has yet occurred.  I have not seen a summary of the killboard, but over $1M (real money) worth of virtual equipment was at play in this engagement.

Thanks, but I have kind of an issue with companies telling me what forks I can and can not have.
With a phone I choose what to claim and not.

I never understood the need for a HW wallet anyway. Is it that hard to write down your private keys? Or memorize your 12/24 word seed?
