Well, so much for trying to short BTC on margin as a hedge and setting a wimpy stop loss. Roll Eyes REKT! Should have known better. Not sure what strategy that I need to employ to try and preserve value in this downtrend market.  Cry

Please tell me you aren't serious...

Yes I am serious. The sentiment around here has been rather bearish. So I gave it a shot. Now I am a few bitcents poorer.  Cry Unfortunately, since I set my stop losses rather conservatively, the stop losses got filled. Oh well, guess it's back to the step method JJG likes so much.

Shorting with stop losses is exactly the opposite of what I do (banking on the volatility). If you are gonna bet on downtrend (the same is applicable to uptrends) don't set a wimpy stop loss and go on with it till the end. Or a least make sure you can cover even if price goes 50% against your bet. Otherwise volatility will kill your position sooner or later.

P.S.: I am referring to what I do with my trading stash which, currently, amounts to only 10% of my long term total holdings.

Nice. Looks like we're not going under $8000. Never ever.

It's only a trend line until it's not. One of these lines will be broken soon enough. Or even both.

We all know exactly what's going to happen already.  In metals, the ESF tries to paint the tape to crash through the moving averages and trendlines every single time.  In bitcoin it's the exact opposite.  They will try and paint the tape upwards and if the single entity that controls the price on Bitfinex ever since $200 can't get any idiots to chase the pump, they will then drop the bomb on you straight to $6000 or lower.  It's pretty obvious to me from how they try and paint the tape upwards every single time, that (((organizations))) are rigging the bitcoin price upwards with the blessing of (((government))).

There is no other way possible bitcoin can be artificially painted upwards so often unless the govt allows it since the govt has plenty of resources to prevent that from happening.

I was trying to use this as a hedge. I don't want to risk being liquidated for the full 20% of my holdings on a 5x margin. Oh well, this is not for me. Hulk candles are not going to make this strategy work for me.

I speculate that JJG imagines themself to be the mostest specialest importantest poster in all of Bitcoindom.

Don't worry, Theresa May is coming for JayJuanGoyim:

Bitcoin massively trying to get up but bears not allowing it to do so. Still, I'd not be surprised if we start seeing Vegeta's 9000 scouter again within the next 24 hours, even though its a week-end.

It’s definitely not over but the bounce off $8200 was unexpectedly strong.  I think that may have rocked some bears.

The optimism chart says we will break the downtrend in April.

And the financial downturn during the past two days will not affect this run up?

The correlation between financial markets and bitcoin has grown somewhat but it is still very weak.  Badger for the most part does its own thing.

It’s a bit hard to read on the chart but it looks like a third of the Bitcoin hash rate disappeared in the past 12 hours and is now back.  This coincided with the dip in price.

So looks like a hash rate attack but weakly executed.  Suggests that the strength of the Bcash lol team is really slipping.
