I remember on this forum when we used to welcome newbies to the forum and ask them to let us know if they have any questions. They'd say "thanks, still reading but will take you up on that if I do".

Now you see a newbie and think..."shit, signature campaigner trying to get his post count up. Shut up n00b."

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

...and you even conceded, at one point, that he had kind of pressured you into selling a bit more than you had planned

Not entirely true. I was hmm'ing and haw'ing back-and-forth, unable to make a decision, and Ginger Rick - my partner - merely provided the nudge I needed to pull the trigger.

He knew I was in a window to sell, but I was starting to go a bit crazy with the extreme volatility/slide, and Rick - my partner - was there as a sanity-check.

We each are independently wealthy and only mix funds in a joint account to pay for house-related stuff, groceries, bills, etc.

Rick - my partner - has his own BTC, but looks to me for advice sometimes, just like I ask him for advice/suggestions - Like...

Me: "Dude, I'm stressing out. Should I just pull the trigger at $xx,xxx ?"
Rick: "For fuck sakes man, sure. Why not ? It's not like you're dumping your entire bag."
Me: "Ok. Thanks dude. Love you honey-buns"
Rick: "Take me to bed or lose me forever..."
Me: ... goes to the pantry to fetch some vegetable oil. Grabs two bottles of cold water from the fridge. Pops a Glitter Shit capsule in his mouth on the way back to the bedroom ...

Sounds healthy...  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Somewhat related, I downloaded the decentralized exchange, bisq.

It's pretty interesting in that you can see the amount of trades daily. US dollar trades are around 15 per day.

I went ahead and set up a sell order in baht for my gf to test it out in Thailand. Set it at 10% though so no bites.

It's not that great but at least a start.
Looks interesting, I'll have a closer look at it over the weekend.
I really hope decentralised exchanges will improve and take off, as the risk of hacks scams and raids on current exchanges is pretty high + likely fractional reserve on most of largest ones ;
there is much higher chance of losing coins due to this than by bad trading.

15minutes charts on bitcoin wisdom feels like a joke. Can you believe such manipulation? watch it while it lasts. You have a green candle on the left, some sideways and two red candles on the right. Almost like a mirror.

What problem is that, embarrassingly rude person?
You are a sophist. That's the problem.

Izzat so? Funny that you've never engaged to point out whatever fallacious arguments I have been making. Of course, it's much easier to just slap a label on me, rather than show why the label applies.

Apparently you can come to a pro-Bitcoin forum (Bitcointalk.org) and talk shit about Bitcoin. For years and years and years. Not only will the mods NOT ban you, they'll allow you to continue doing it. Because 'muh free speech. And allow you to multiply sock puppet Troll accounts by the 1000s. Eventually running off all the pro-Bitcoin people, leaving behind nothing but Trolls and salty Bitcoin haters that outnumber everyone else by 1000:1.
...

If you think this is bad, you should take a look at the Currency Exchange subforum.
Obvious scammers have been using self-locked threads (they lock their own threads after every bump)
for months in attempts to scam unsuspecting newbies.

The problem is known to the administration and yet these users are still allowed to post,
because this apparently is also covered by "free speech" and scams are not
moderated all over Bitcointalk.

In my opinion this is even worse than the conspiracy theories posted by various guys here, because of
the financial damage that it causes.

...
There are only two camps of people, those that believe in sound, physical money that actually exists in the real world like silver and gold, and those that believe in completely arbitrary, imaginary, valueless tokens like US dollars, bitcoins, and Chuck E Cheese tokens.

Do US dollars have a hard cap? No.
Do US dollars have a predictable issuance schedule? No.
Do Chuck E Cheese tokens have a hard cap? No.
Do Chuck E Cheese tokens have a predictable issuance schedule? No.

Do Bitcoins have a hard cap? Yes.
Do Bitcoins have a predictable issuance schedule? Yes.

Therefore it is either stupid or disingenuous to lump Bitcoins in with these obvious
scam projects like US dollars or Chuck E Cheese tokens.

You know I loaded half a bitcoin to the exchange just to be prepared and I was going to pull the trigger on just that little bit to hedge my bets a bit but you know there is a bit of good news coming out, we see more and more positive charts being posted all over the place, forbes posted an article on hashing power and the price isn't wildly moving. I am feeling good today, and if I am feeling good, the market is probably feeling this, fear is down i tell ya. Seriously I expect a few hundred increase today if not more.
