Coinbase has launched "Coinbase Custody".
https://custody.coinbase.com/

This is an important step towards Wall Street adoption and SEC approval for ETF. Unlike futures, the custody means that coinbase is buying the bitcoins and storing them securely for their clients. If say, 5 bln is invested in bitcoins, this would mean theoretically 666 666 bitcoins at the price of $7500. Currently in Gdax there are 7500 bitcoins on ask orders up to the price 19000. Well, some action is about to begin, that's for sure!

Institutional investment could make the bull market of 2017 look like foreplay... no not even that... hand holding.

Why do all experts, whales and dickheads insist that capitulation has not occurred and cry, beg, scream, insist for lower prices?

I saw capitulation on Feb 5th!

yes, we did see it

reason for my bullish sentiment

Presumably on joining up there's a box you can tick that read 'please only buy off market. I don't want to enrich the little shits that hang out on your crappy exchange.'

...
A bull market will not deter realr0ach. Just like a roach, he is tenacious. During a bull run, we are bound to hear the exact same arguments again and again. We will also hear much about Bitfinex painting the tape with Tethers. R0ach used to be a trader. However, I believe that he was turned off by the bullshit he perceived as happening with Bitfinex. When Bitfinex has "hacked" in late 2016, I think that was the final straw for him. Perhaps if Bitfinex would just go belly up, that would make R0ach go away. However, there are a lot more players in this space pulling some dubious shit, so I doubt it.

E.g. BitMEX that has been running its own for-profit trading subsidiary on its own platform...

Regarding realr0ach, most of you are getting to worked up over his posts.
Just grab a cold beverage of your choice and print out your own realr0ach Bingo card and follow
the thread Wink

I've known many trolls in my day and realr0ach is by far one of the more entertaining. I don't really even mind him. Look at that meme you just made, it's awesome and hilarious and it wouldn't exist without him. He's almost like our pet or something.

We'll see, might as well start our way down to touch the trend line at 7k

I know the pump the other day made a lot of people bullish but we might want to wait for some confirmation. We're still below the ichimoku cloud, below all EMA's, and the volume isn't all that great.

We'll see, patience Smiley

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're back over $7.5kUSD... currently $7555USD/$9801CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Tried to buy a couple of thousand fiat bucks at my local low-sell-fee ATM but the General Bytes machine had run out of thermal paper to print my redeem ticket so I had to wait until today. Nice to see the price up a wee.

The price rise may be small but every little bit helps when you're an old-age pensioner trying to eke out a living selling small amounts of Bitcoin.  Cool

How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

You are thinking about Sarda.

Remember the good ol' days when this was the place to find out wtf was happening with the price?

I remember those days. Something I have wondered and I've been meaning to ask, what happened to that wall observer bot? The one that would post the depth chart every few hours? It appears to be gone completely.

RichieT did a rage quit with his Chartbuddy about 2 years ago.  He got all BIG blocker nutjobie, and at that time concluded (and still seems to hold such sentiments) that theymos was censoring his feelings too much, and he was going to take his marbles...

You or anyone else with the possible skills who wants to could program a chartbuddy, and I am sure that anyone would receive a lot of positive praise for such proactivity.. likely merits, but maybe if the bot performed well, even a few folks would donate some token amounts of BTC (no guarantees, of course)?

I started to hate Chartbuddy because it was a sign of this place's utter deadness in the depths of the gloom. 5-6 consecutive posts was like a wino pissing in your mouth.
