I had to have the starter rebuilt with more windings for the high compression. It was licensed, and had open headers, it was hot shit on the farm. At the time.

I knew back in December when things went parabolic that we were in a bubble. It was surreal. Even my SO said something to me one morning like "yeah... it's looking more and more like another bubble" and she isn't even good at detecting such things.

The only question on our minds was how high would it go.

Here's the thing : the amount of deep pocket traders $$$ with their crazy leverage is STILL, even after nearly a decade, far outnumbering the amount of $$$ put in by the Average Joe bitcoiners. By far. I think it's going to take another decade or so before these type of swings smooth out.

Unless of course, ETFs come online, which means that Average Joe money will never be able to overtake the market. The whales will still maintain control of it. Maybe that's why the CMOE is suddenly more interested in ETFs?

I knew back in December when things went parabolic that we were in a bubble. It was surreal. Even my SO said something to me one morning like "yeah... it's looking more and more like another bubble" and she isn't even good at detecting such things.

The only question on our minds was how high would it go.

By far. I think it's going to take another decade or so before these type of swings smooth out. Unless of course, ETFs come online, which means that Average Joe money will never be able to overtake the market. The whales will still maintain control of it.

That's the thing that sucks though. If you are a true believer that long term Bitcoin is a better form of money than fiat, then selling a huge amount just to profit from a bubble feels awful. Especially if you sold it to fund something that is not deflationary. You'll likely not rebuy that Bitcoin back or even reinvest your gains, which defeats the whole point. And you enable the whales to win again, the rich get richer.

afaict empires aren't defeated, they just sort of crumble. I saw the writing on the wall and jumped on the train. Nothing revolutionary about that.

long time holder here (2011) and i sold some on the dec 2017 run up, it was too hard to resist not taking some profits off the table. i used it to do some house upgrades and get a few new toys.

yes i believe in what bitcoin represents; the new way of storing value, security and money in general. i wouldnt have held the bulk of my btc this long if i didnt. but taking advantage of its price rise here and there, well, nothing wrong with that imo. its nice to enjoy the benefits on occasion.

And they regret it now.

You know it's gonna happen again, and it will be even more epic.

This is what keeps me going mostly. My highest buy was @$15.5k. I bought 4 times more when it was above 10k (14k x2, 13k and 12k) rest of my buys are all below 10k and somehow I can still survive a price as low as $2.5k  



But that's not the only reason why I am buying. BTC is still a good buy even if it moves sideways for the next 5 years. I like the idea carrying all your wealth with you where ever you go. Just memorize your seed and your brain is your bank.

Since the adoption has grown so big, (still not as big as we'd like it to be) you can just survive solely on bitcoins.

But these are the boring features of bitcoin mostly. If I told you that I was only interested in these features only, I would be lying. (and you wouldn't believe me) Of course sometimes I find myself dreaming of a big sailboat and naked girls and that's motivating as fuck too.
