I can’t be bothered arguing with Jbear about bcash lol.  It’s much too nice a day for that.

Meh, it's the middle of September. It should not be 90 F at this time of year.  Angry I used to love September weather.  Not anymore. Or maybe I am remembering it all wrong. Huh

If he has claimed that BCH is BTC, then that is news to me. Proof?

Are you being honest?  Roger has been claiming BCH is (the real) Bitcoin for about a year now.

https://twitter.com/rogerkver/status/987700520809783296?lang=en

That is not what I wrote. Claiming that BCH is bitcoin is not the same as claiming BCH is BTC.

BTC is currently Bitcoin, aye. As it is the chain built atop the Satoshi genesis block that has the most accumulated SHA256 proof of work.

It may not always be such.

As an aside, anyone that mistakes BCH for BTC had obviously not even started to do the necessary due diligence for trading in this market. I have no sympathy for anyone incurring losses on this basis.

Sorry for stupid question maybe..

Is any similar topic to this one about altcoins and their news?
I like this very active topic format (something similar even with chat) but sometimes want to discuss alts also

The Monero speculation thread is similiar, I think. Also, several regular posters here post there as well.

As for a general alt speculation thread - no, AFAIK. Similar threads have been attempted, but they just turn into an endless stream of shilling.

I am even being more specific when he had bitcoin.com shilling out Bcash wallets and linking Bcash under Bitcoin and BTC under Bitcoin core and he stopped when groups were getting lawyers involved.

BCASH could only be better if Roger just let it free. Roger use it for himself, to be more influential but Satoshi gave BTC to us.

This seems very dishonest to me.

Roger has tried to trick others into buying Bcash when saying it's bitcoin. He also has spent money to do spam attacks on bitcoin.

If he has claimed that BCH is BTC, then that is news to me. Proof?

-Roger claims BCH is bitcoin.
-The person you quotes says Roger claims Bcash is Bitcoin.

Both of those statements are true.  The only difference is what you call Bitcoin Cash.

You changed it to Roger claiming BCH is BTC, which is sort of silly.  Obviously BCH!=BTC.  Two different things.  But Roger believes BCH/Bcash/Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin.

Your rebuttal is sidestepping, and changing the argument.  And changing it in a stupid way.

Well, if Jihan and friends have their way, BCH will never have the most accumulated SHA256 work. They are hinting around that they want to decrease the block times to 1 minute and perhaps implement POS.

If BCH goes POS, it will never be bitcoin, sorry. Better hope that Jihan's ass gets kicked in come November.

Merited by bones261 (2)

I copped some slight heat for calling a local bottom yesterday.  But I think the thesis still stands with a local target of $7200 - $7300.  Then pucker.

Update - still calling for a local target of $7200, to be followed by a burning sensation.

Don't ask me, I just work here.  Target $7200.

Target still $7200 then revisit $5700.

I find this is really interesting.  I am getting a divergence on my model.  Target was $5700 but we bounced at $6100.  So why did that happen?  Is it traders trading in anticipation of the bounce?  Is there something deeper going on here?  Or is this a quick swing on the way down to $5700?  I don't know.  Historically speaking, September should be a bloody month followed by an October rally.  But it should be too early for an October rally.  So my model still calls for $5700 but the price is currently going in the other direction.  I have gotten stopped out on Eth shorts now so am stopping all trading until I figure out what is going on.

Overview shots.  All of the lines currently intersect around 12 November.   I would expect a small break upwards sometime in the interim to delay intersection into December.

He's got plenty of hashpower on hand. It's only natural he'd be better off allocating as large a fraction as possible to the more valuable coin. Also, POS can be a very good thing. For those that hold the absolute majority of tokens, at least.

Wat?

That is the childish semantic argument to defend Roger as not having ever said BCash is Bitcoin.

Of course POS would be a good thing for Jihan and his ~1,000,0000 BCH.  Cheesy However, POS on a limited supply coin is always less secure than a POW coin. All an entity needs to do is accumulate 51% of the coins and be in a permanent attack position. No amount of competition will ever be able to unseat them.
