According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

UK State goes down the rabbit hole of guilty until proven innocent and asymmetric justice ...

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-10-28/uk-begins-confiscating-wealth-without-criminal-charges

the great nation state unravelling gains pace

The United Kuckdom has been going down the drain for years now... Nothing new. Completely ruined by modern radical leftism. Better not watch tv without a license or buy a butterknife under 18.

I am glad you know the UK so well.  However, you obviously are not quite well-informed enough to know that the Tories (in power since 2010) are hardly what most people would call radical left, unless you think Margaret Thatcher was a socialist.

You should also know the TV license has always been entirely to fund the BBC, through all of its outlets online, on TV and on radio which are free and carry no advertising or sponsorship.  Most people in the UK rather like the BBC.  Even if they do moan about it, they would not see it gone by any stretch of the imagination, nor do they prefer endless ad breaks, as some countries seem to love.

OK, maybe the UK should let kids buy knives and stab each other (which has been an issue) or maybe you think less of them would be stabbed if they were armed?

The thing is the UK worries about knives as it really doesn't have anything like a fine popular tradition of mass shootings to worry about, is it doing that wrong too?
I got my first knife when I was like, six. Went out and cut up some innocent plants. Cut my finger, still have a scar. Every kid should do the same and every adult should have the right to be armed if so desired.
But then people would have to be held accountable for their own actions, that's a mind set that has been crumbling for years. Could you imagine a world where someone is blamed for their choices and not the availability of the tools or weapons used and innocent responsible adults aren't then forced to have to change their lifestyle of hobbies for the individual who is a fuckup?

I doubt the future of people being held responsible for their actions good or bad is the future we will have.

And parents would have to be held accountable for their children. Mothers might have to actually stay home and raise their kids again.

No more dumping the kids off at daycare for 60 hours per week, then blaming "society" when the kid stabs someone.

Someone should send them my way. Just don't tell my wife.

I'm running low on hopium right now. I ordered a huge quantity off of some darkweb marketplace, it's supposed to arrive sometime soon (about the same time when the US' deteriorating financial position reaches a tipping point).

I'm looking for a well written article refuting the media's claim that bitcoin is using exorbitant amounts of energy.
Anyone have such articles bookmarked you'd be willing to share?  I'd like to blow the thought process open for some men who have questions for me with the energy argument.
This is the one I've shared so far but I've seen better articles that I forgot to bookmark. https://medium.com/@knut.svanholm/how-everyones-wrong-about-the-energy-used-in-bitcoin-mining-fe3009fd9102

Much appreciated

So not that anyone here gives a shit but gpu miners are essentially fucked right now. Everyone is going towards fpga and bitsreams are being developed for a hand full of fpga for tons of algorithm. I think we will see a super sell off of GPU soon and this means more industry money filling the home Miner spot even on shitcoin mining.

but just think of the mad framerates bro

Well hello there..

It's been awhile hasn't it? A quick check on the chart is in order no?

Declining market sentiment and volume has dominated the 3rd quarter of trade leaving bitcoin in a narrow channel. This channel is about to run head on into a historical zone of bitcoins highest volatility and price range.
What this means for the end of 2018 is probably the question on everyone's mind right now. Conventional wisdom would indicate a Bull run might be in the offing...I am not convinced that is the direction we will see this year.
Is predicting a continuing Bear market for the coming year out of line? I think it is about a flip at this point which way it might play out.
Regardless...I am still bullish long term. #dyor

Tomorrow marks 10 years Bitcoin has been out in the wild...imagine what the next 10 will bring.
Happy Birthday Bitcoin.

Well the UK has what the population of 66 million? That's just the population of California and Texas, we have plenty of States we could combine (that have plenty of guns) that haven't had a mass shooting and have more of a population. We're fucking massive here and we just pay for our advertisementless tv, I sure enjoy The Grand tour over the recent top gear. Honestly each nation has their issues, people like to talk shit on the US but it's because we're massive and information is open here. I'm sure plenty of wild crimes happen in India and China but just aren't wildly reported on.

The UK can do the what the UK wants, just as any country can for all I care just don't push your countries views and don't mock ours.

I have no desire to attack - I was defending the UK (see bolded nonsense above).

For the record I have no personal hatred of Americans or the USA, I lived in Manhattan for a few years, on 2nd St. and C, where 2nd  meets Houston. Loved it.

I dislike ignorance, but I have no personal beef with most on here (excepting the obvious critters who spoil this place with the stench of hatred).

One thing that is sadly apparent is Americans seem to understand the UK (and Brexit in particular) no better than British people understand calculating baseball batting averages. I do wish they realised it; there are quite a few Brits here and we have enough arguments on our own turf, without any ill-informed help, I can assure you.

Fuck tons of our own citizens know pure crap about guns and think if you make them illegal murders will magically stop.

It really is dumb. First ban the automatic guns, then you ban all guns, then the knives, the cars... At some point you ban large rocks. Whatever makes people feel safe.

If you surrender your freedoms in exchange for this "security theatre" then you really don't deserve freedoms or rights in the first place.

Meanwhile the United Kucks are being mowed down by trucks and yet their biggest concern is not selling round edge butter knives to under 18 year olds. So their solution is to install cameras on every street lamp and perform "sweeps" to insure that doesn't happen. I have absolutely no respect for anyone that would support such an idiotic system.
