Gregory Maxwell, co-founder and former CTO of the Bitcoin Core (BTC) institution Blockstream, has had a change of heart. For reasons yet unknown, the crypto expert has come to the realization that Bitcoin SV is the real Bitcoin, and has even offered to lend a hand. He penned an email to Dr. Craig Wright of nChain and Bitcoin BCH development, in which he mentioned that he was prepared to offer his “discreet assistance.” Better late than never, it’s good to see that Maxwell has finally come around. Here is his email, formatted to make reading easier.

Serious chance this is the best trolling of the year.

From current 0.2% to 100% adoption means theroretically 9 doublings to go.

Count Me In  Grin

I'm confused about the formula to get from .2% adoption to 100% adoption.

Seems to me that there would be more than 9 doublings to get to 100%?

I did a quickie calculation, and 9 doublings comes out to about $3.25 million per coin...

Something does not seem correct about this... seems too low, especially for a hypothetical of 100% adoption.

Edit to account for the below related string of thoughts:

I'll be happy with 3 doublings in 3 years. Smiley

As in -

2019 - From $6,000 to $12,000
2020 - From $12,000 to $24,000
2021 - From $24,000 to $48,000

I would accept that, THANK YOU VERY FUCKING MUCH !!!!!!

That does not even look unreasonable.

He was talking about 9 doublings of the adoption figure, not the price, but you're right 3.25m is low for an all-out price.

Just remember...when selling you get hit with tax consequences (in the US).

So selling a big chunk is not the best strategy (unless you're just in it for the fiat and supporting your benevolent government with more money).

Personally I was able to retire and I can pull out $35k of my bitcoin every year tax free. I don't have to work the rest of my life.

To me that seemed a bit more important than anything I could cash out and buy.

Good for you, although it all depends on your physical location.
In most US urban/suburban areas $35K is somewhere in the vicinity of barely scraping by, but not exactly poor, and I am not even talking about NY, LA, etc.
I am also aware that in some other areas on Earth $35K/year would be a very nice living or close to it.

So, it being Thursday and all, I just want to make sure everyone remembers that this recently happened...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg47666946#msg47666946

I don’t have anything against JJG at all, he’s pro bitcoin & to me that makes him alright. I just can not read through his walls of text at times.

His grave head stone will say -

Here lies JJG
TL ; DR

I have similar feelings.  I hardly ever read my own stuff, and if I ever hear myself on a recording, I become repulsed.

On the other hand, I do tend to look at myself in the mirror, except if there is someone more handsome nearby.. then I will tend to look at the more handsome fella.. while admittedly attempting a compare / contrast.  If there happens to be a handsome fella and a decently looking chick, I will gravitate towards the chick, unless the guy happens to look a lot better.

Ever tried to to think twice before posting and try to condense your post in less words and explanations?

Oh no.  Never thought about that.  First time, just now.

I mean, most of us here are not (completely) retarded and can perfectly understand things with a smaller wall of text.... and/or ask for additional clarification otherwise.

Yes.  You (and the rest of the we) can also chose what to read and what not to read.

In fact I have seen you being perfectly capable of doing that in some posts (just like that one above)... so I am inclined to think you do it on purpose because you like peeps complaining about it, you fucking attention whore! Wink

Exactly!!!!   You got me so pegged.

Well, now you have a few. Good bye for now.

Santa came early? was sleeping Cheesy

Anyone ever been to Sri Lanka? Any suggestions on stuff to do there?

I'm flying there in the end of October for a couple of weeks, too bad I didn't check the weather before buying the tickets, the end of Oct and beginning of Nov are supposedly the rainiest periods, lucky me! Smiley

If you are English or cricket lover then visit Galle, Sri Lanka. You can watch Test cricket match there. The English team is in a very good position.

Count Me In  Grin

I'm confused about the formula to get from .2% adoption to 100%

Of course the math is reasonable nor realistic and completely in my favour.

There it goes: 0.2 x 2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2

Regardless whether the formula makes sense, if adoption is indeed still very low, 1. adoption rates can still spread like wildfire and 2. current prices are just a blimp of the potential price
