No-one in the bitcoin 'community' elected the Bitcoin Foundation.

The Bitcoin Foundation represents nobody but the Bitcoin Foundation.

I can believe that; I had sensed that much from some postings in this thread.

But will the world get that?  Who is going to tell them so?

If the Bitcoin Foundation is not representative of the "Bitcoin community", who is?

How will a honest member of the "Bitcoin community" convince investors and government officials that he is not / will not become "another Charlie Shrem"?

The price sort of belongs around here. The "oh noes btc is dead cos it's only worth 700 bucks each" crowd need to actually think for a minute. That's not to say it won't go lower.....

Bad press when the market is jittery = manipulator sell of with aim of buying back in at a lower price. Nothing more to see here.

Its times like these when Coinbase, Bitstamp, Gox et al, make most of the revenue thanks to operational fees derived from buy/sell craziness...  Grin

It probably will go lower too yet people start to panic sell and then regret it later but I think Bitcoin will reach around the $2000 mark in the next 6 months.

I could see things going lower before they start going up on February 1st... But I'm not willing to take the risk of selling now. :-)

So in one way mt gox is helping us all at least thats one way of looking at it but I see why people hate mt gox they seem to have been the main attraction for people new to Bitcoin even though their rates are not very good.
