Congrats on shooting straight! Be extra nice to your wife for a while because she just shot a watermelon out of a place only cucumbers normally go. Grin

An old comedian named Carol Burnett described childbirth to men, “all of the men in the audience grab your lower lip and pull it over the top of your head”.

thought that was bill cosby that said that.

and @ infofront: CONGRATS!

Sorry but the rapist stole it and modified it from Carol Burnett’s old comedy routine.

Quote
Carol Burnett described what labor pains feel like, she said, ‘Take your bottom lip. And pull it over your head.'”

This is from Bill Cosby’s 1970’s stand-up bit on “natural childbirth” (video after jump) in which he riffs on the Lamaze classes of yore: “The second pain hit, my wife said, [Incomprehensible Words] and STOOD UP in the stirrups, grabbed my bottom lip and said, ‘I want morphine! … ”

What's all this rhyming about? I thought it was my thing  Cool

Not sure on the others, but I have only been doing limericks. It's a fairly restrictive structure (but not as much as haiku)

Buy eth and ltc

If you want to be pointed & laughed at for being a shit coin enthusiast.

I believe in ETH becoming a respectable player. ETH infrastructure is growing.
LTC infrastructure is not really evolving.

So I will invest in ETH next to my BTC stash. ETH has a higher profit margin if it goes back to $1500.

ETH is crumbling under its own weight. It is fucked and will have to keep becoming more and more centralized to even function.

OT:

So president Trump is threating to end govt subsidies to General Motors for closing 5 plants and laying off 10,000 workers.

The BIGGER fkn question: Why is the U.S. govt subsidizing GM, or ANY U.S. corporation at all?? With American tax dollars?? They can't thrive without govt subsidies?

Buy bitcoin.

Corporate welfare, too big to fail. Only the little guy gets fucked here and its continual and ingrained so much it is considered the norm and kids don't even see it at all they are brought up so brainwashed.

gotcha. carol burnett was hilarious, cosby too. even if cosby turned out to be a scumbag he was still funny. not like thats bonus points or anything.

Yeah, he was funny. I like watching the old classic comedians all the way back to Charlie Chaplin. If you like old comedy you should watch Foster Brooks. Seriously funny shit.

Why do bitcoiners want a Lambo?

Because Ferrari is owned by Fiat.

What do you get if you cross Jamie Dimon with Roger Ver?

A cunt!

Bitcoin mining firm Canaan Creative has revealed it is temporarily cutting prices across all of its crypto mining devices.
As part of its “flash sale” starting today, all of the company’s miners – from the Avalon 921 (20 terahashes per second) to the Avalon 851 (14.5 TH/s) – are all [sic] available at $200 each.

I haven't been active here much, but I'm still alive. I will try to at least delete the worst shitposting. Reporting particular posts to me via PM is helpful.

We had a long holiday weekend here in the states, and then my wife delivered our first baby right after. Shit's been crazy - attending to work, baby, wife, and sleeping when I get "free time".

Congrats man!

hmmmm

Is that cheap? Is it worth it? I haven't mined since the Antminer S3, maybe I should give it another go for the lulz.

P.S.: It basically says in its own page that it is unprofitable to mine with it. And... 1700Watts? That would be a very expensive PSU that I don't have. Think I'll pass on the offer.

Yeah I have stayed away from mining Sha for quite some time, it's too aggressive on difficulty and the equipment is all Enterprise style (loud as fuck fans over standard 110v power draw) GPU mining is even getting cut out more and more by fpga and I want to dip my toes in fpga but the up front cost is too damn high.

A quick calc on https://whattomine.com/asic

20Tera Hashes @ 1700W
Electricity @ $0.1/kWh

This generates $3.39 on Bitcoin mining, with an overall profit of -$0.69 / day.

I guess it may be a cheap way to heat your greenhouse in the winter, but not much else.

Yes, that's more or less the same calculations they give in their page: https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/canaan/avalonminer-921

Maybe if you have free electricity. But the heat on the winter argument.... I have always said that electric resistance generated heat is 4.x less efficient that a heat pump, so no, not even in that case.

With that figures they would have to give them for free or even pay me to run it lol

Thanks HM, really enjoying your input in this thread. Interesting to read your analysis, just a little thanks for providing us with your charts/TA/predictions etc.

This is by far my favourite thread on here, I’m a cold bastard in life mostly but it’s a pleasure being a part of this thread with you guys over the years.

Here’s to many more years on here together!

Okay but if you are paying 4.08 for electricity but can reduce the cost to .69 after your Bitcoin earnings, then the apparent efficiency of the obsolete-miner-heating method is  5.9x more efficient than resistance heating (or 1.475 more efficient than a heat pump)... at current Bitcoin prices - I think?

edit: to muddy the explanation further

hmmmm

1. Their website does not reflect the $200 price tags.
2. If I am correct, even if the miners are handed out for free, I still need a donation of $600 per month to stay even.

Only those who pay less than 0.08 KWh do not lose money.
