I think I haven't read anyone posting about the XMAS/NEW YEAR conversations about Bitcoin on the table.... Maybe the nocoiners were so disgusting you guys don't wanna talk about it? lol
In my case... no conversation about it. The only one at the table that knows I am into Bitcoin was my GF and she is a hodler since 2013 and has instructions to never talk about it with anyone else.
I tell them that if they dont own at least one Bitcoin then they may feel suicidal when it hits one million dollars bc they didnt make a small investment. I also tell people to just get one. I think it is a good balance between having them invest too little and feeling guilty if they invest too much. I only tell this to people who can afford one easily but I just say, buy one and forget about it for 10 years. 3500 today and a million in 10 years. It really is a no-brainer for those that waste that much each month on stupid shit anyway...

good one!
well, roomba self-cleans now, so maybe your ouporings would be put to good use somehow, lol.
Every phrase I can associate with the idea - self cleaning, rechargeable, Amazon - used acceptable, 2 year warranty, realistic gag reflex, pleading mode, barely legal pack, carry case - is a stake through the heart of my desire. Wait till they introduce the realistic sigh's and huff's model with actual human teeth in the vagina. Tell me you're still not interested now.

Thanks man, I totally forgot haha! This year will be strange paying taxes, on 11.2k / BTC (in NL you have to pay 1.2% on the value of your crypto on the first of january of the fiscal year). But not hard to do, I love my country so I have no problem paying some taxes. Is that a 1.2% wealth tax? Do you have to pay that on all assets every year? Yikes! LOL, who would do that? Who would declare their crypto holdings and pay taxes. Does NL government know how to evaluate the crypto holdings? Is there a guidline how to determnine the market price, which exchange to use? How about determining price of the illiquit coins? So you have a ton of shitcoin, worth at 1 dollar per shitcoi, but if you ought to sell it, the price would collapse to 1 cent. How do you pricve thats into account? Do you also have to take snapshots of online items such as game items that could be sold for money? Do you have to pay 1.2% tax on money you have? If you earned 1 million and paid all income tax and on top of that, at the end of the year have to pay 1.2% ? This is ridiculous. Statement - i love my country, so i pay taxes is ridiculous. Like - i love my country too, but i love myself more, therefore i am not happy of paying wealth tax.

You don't pay taxes because it makes you happy unless you are mentally ill. You pay taxes because not doing so could get you in a situation that ruins your happiness for life.
Many countries do tax not only income and capital gains but also an additional annual tax against all your wealth over some figure. Ie. In Spain it is for any net worth above 700.000€ excluding main home and some classes of industrial investments.
That is, you have 10 Million € in FIAT? You pay some annual percentage (it starts around 0.5% and goes higher depending on the total amount) then you pay some tax for the 9.3Million € you have over the limit.
That's where financial advisors do their job advising what actions to do to reduce the tax bill, ie: put some assets into exempt companies, etc....
Also if you are rich enough, you start (legally) developing international companies in places where you can reduce your tax bill.
Being wealthy and growing or even maintaining your wealth is a job in itself. A pretty hard one if you want to optimise your returns and reduce your overhead (including taxes) costs.
P.S.: Unfortunately I am not already there... I wish the need to care about this will come sometime in the future though. Nothing would make me more happy even if I do have to spend all my time thinking about how to reduce the tax bill.

Guess a year where sex with a sex-robot will feel the same (or better) than sex with a female?
When we ourselves are robots, or brains in jars having our pleasure centres tickled. I could not imagine warming up some dead eyed object and then forgetting that I filled it with my filthy outpourings the previous week. Whatever boner I could muster these days would rapidly disappear again. Think Westworld F*** I still didn't saw the second season but its winter i'll be catching up real fast

Good day ladies & gentlemen, Can we have a little extra speculation on the sex dolls stuff, especially on when to expect an Ex-Machina style - Japanese GUI one please. Also if we can elaborate on the cost - in BTC of course. Thank you. Do excuse me, I have to go take a shower

In other words, you're advertising shitcoins as an actual Ponzi scam. Buy shitcoins now because it's guaranteed to go to $1 million each. Forget the fact it's a fake commodity and even if you corner the entire market and own all 21 million of them, you have 0 leverage to force other people to buy your coins. They can simply create a new shitcoin or just ignore you entirely and use real commodity money like silver or gold instead. If someone corners the market on a real commodity whether it's silver, lumber, anything, you're forced to buy at whatever price they ask that the market can bear. If you corner the market on a fake commodity, people just laugh at you and give you the middle finger. And that is your lesson of the day in people who have leverage vs people who don't.

In my case... no conversation about it. The only one at the table that knows I am into Bitcoin was my GF and she is a hodler since 2013 and has instructions to never talk about it with anyone else.
I can confirm from personal experience and discussing with other Bitcoiner friends how their experiences were, that nocoiners who had traditional investments did not want bring up Bitcoin bc they had taken such a beating in December. While the Dow and SP500 were down significantly in the month, many small time investors were hit extra hard bc they often have riskier portfolios loaded up with popular tech goodies like FANG stocks that got slaughtered. Nocoiners who have no investments at all have always been more open minded to hearing about Bitcoin in my experience. I have personally converted many nocoiners into Bitcoiners in the last five years and almost every one of them had zero investments at the time, making Bitcoin their first ever investment. My nocoiner conversion method is pretty simple. I tried dozens of ways and stuck with the one that worked the best. I tell them that if they dont own at least one Bitcoin then they may feel suicidal when it hits one million dollars bc they didnt make a small investment. Very few of my converts have acquired a complete coin but it has become a goal of them all to get one coin. Funny story but my first convert was my father, and he is my only convert who went back to nocoinery, all the rest still HODL. He purchased 1.1 BTC in 2014. In early 2015 around 220 usd/btc he said he didnt want to hold it anymore and he couldnt handle the huge swings. I found this humorous bc he is very well off and heavily invested in stocks and mutual funds since the 70's, so his portfolio swings on a daily basis by massive dollar amounts just bc of how large it is. But somehow the Bitcoin that he spent peanuts on bothered him emotionally with its large percent swings. He said i could have the coin, and I of course accepted and added it to my Hodl stash. What is even more funny is how when in 2017 at the end of the epic bull run, he told me I got lucky with the investment. He thought this was some kind of compliment, but I took offense naturally and I reminded him how hard it was for him to handle the swings of 1.1 coins and to imagine how hard it was for me to handle the swings when I had a large amount and it was 100 percent of my net worth. I explained it wasnt luck but vision and the will to fight and hodl and never surrender no matter how hard it got. The will to die for your coins. He quickly apologized and said luck was a poor choice of words. If you thought I was going to forget to mention that we are in a bull run and to go smoke some good Hopium and enjoy the health benefits documented by 9 surgeon generals, you were wrong belief me when i say I have a friend that is really OG BTC'er and one with very big knowledge on the matter, but he converted me into a coiner and we have become very good friends, in his close friend group he maybe turned in 2-3 peoples into coiners, from the moment I became a coiner(whiteout any knowledge), I turned in minimum 25-30 into holding BTC (probably the no betters owning more in alts) but they are in and i know some have whole BTC some are trying to get it ...... and 0 bought when I was buying(winning) @350-ish, 2 very good friends bought @ 900-1000-ish, my brother was all the way with me and my father was the worst he was always a know better and get burned every time ( the classic things like buying all the alts that someone said was gonna moon and shit) now the most of friends and people start buying when my friend opened his investment fund for crypto and that was august 2017 when the price was 3000-ish i guess...., also a few later around november-december. very much people with less understanding went into that, and start learning buying some on the side ..... of course there are some that left the market, but most of them have some kind of future perspective where the world will need BTCor some kind of digital asset/currency... of course not everybody thought is the same but most of them are becoming long term believers i guess. I know my closest friends are and while many are in loses, they are buying every month of there pay-checks, and trying to accumulate where they can, so i think thats very very positive.

Fuck that, I wouldn't pay any and I would take the steps required to make sure I never have to pay any. This is one of the reasons why I left Euroland decades ago.
A 1.2% flat tax is actually a lot better than capital gains taxes which are usually much higher and much, much more complex. I do not know the capacity of the tax authorities to check one's crypto wealth but we have a saying in the Netherlands that you should not start a fight with: 1. the King 2. Johan Cruyff (meanwhile, he is deceased) 3. the tax authorities Why create a potential fight with a strong and powerful enemy instead of paying a few FIAT crumbs as taxes? If they can't track it now, it does not mean they cannot track it later on There is a difference between what we wish to be true and reality. Taxes are among them. And in the Netherlands, a lot of things are taken rather good care of with community money (from taxes). No swats of beggars on the streets and such.

I suppose you didn't like my obviously true statement that purchasing a fake commodity (any craptocurrency) gives you 0 leverage over anyone while purchasing a real commodity does. This is probably the most obvious reason fake commodity money is always doomed to go to zero and why real commodity money (physical metals) is guaranteed to win - they offer actual leverage.
