Yes... perhaps could be a kind of testing ground for various functionality that might get included into bitcoin or second or third layer, someday, whether 1 year from now, in 50 years or some other timeframe.

It is not really directly translatable - as it does mean 'markers' but in context, it's more often markers on a map or graph; points of reference or signposts...

well they don't do that here in the EU. yeah i've heard they sometimes try to, but then you could always refuse and simply go to another bank.
and now with GDPR, they have it even harder to ask for your data, they can't do much with it and you have to give explicit permission for anything they'd want to do with it.
so no scanning ids here.
