Currently, I am think that it is going to be pretty likely that I will be taking some BTC with me when I die, but ideally would be to spend every last satoshi by the time I take my last breath, and second best scenario would be to be able to bequeath anything that I happen to have by then (hopefully not too much, by then.. hahahaha).

First dibs on the dead man's bitcoins.

Peter Vessenes is such an incredible a..ho.e .  claiming 25% of btc marketcap, what a shitshow.

It's almost like he's trying to be openly obtuse. The Japanese court ought to instantly reject these claims, but the incredibly bureaucratic nature of things probably means claimants will be waiting years now.

you had 50 btc but gambled it away buying shitcoins?  and you still want to keep the shitcoins? imho hodl refers to bitcoin, not to shitcoins.

Hodl refers to what you believe in.

BTC was seen as a dubious innovation some years ago. A shitcoin now can become a very useful tool in the future.

Hodl is a state of mind about you believing in a tech rather than trading for more fiat. That's all.

Anything new is always doubted and ridiculed. Only those with a sharp foresight can see that there is more to it.

Somewhat bitcoin related since it involves Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and numerous other shitcoiners.  The TLDR version is, random autistic guy who was supposedly some type of genetic engineering genius (debatable) kills himself after being labeled a "misogynist":

https://quillette.com/2019/01/30/the-death-of-a-dreamer/

As for if the world would be a better place with this guy, he seemed like a true mad scientist to me eclipsing even that of Dr Frankenstein.  He wanted to genetically engineer literally EVERYTHING and doesn't seem to understand or care about all the potentially catastrophic consequences such actions would cause.  Allowing random autistic people to play mad scientist and experiment on the world is just not something I'm too thrilled about happening.  He doesn't even seem to have real goals for his experiments.  He just wants to play dice for the fuck of it = disaster waiting to happen.
