Exactly I hate the IPhone/apple dumbed down products

Mainstream adoption will boost the BTC price and we all profit

Yup, I fully agree even if we have different preferences/tastes.

Find the Ethereum ticker on the screen of this Galaxy S10. It makes me happy!

Well, seriously, I would be more pleased with the BTC ticker. Roll Eyes
в

here it is

https://www.coindesk.com/hands-on-preview-of-samsungs-galaxy-s10-phone-reveals-new-crypto-details

Anybody here getting one?
But what do you do about your private keys if you lose your phone? According to the T&Cs, the private keys stored in the S10’s Keystore are backed up in a personal account provided by Samsung. If the phone is lost or stolen, users can access the device and delete the private key through its Find My Mobile service. Further, if a private key is accidentally deleted, users can restore it via the service.

Centralizing key storage in this way is bound to raise questions about security and it remains to be seen what would happen if someone gained access to your Find My Mobile service and if Samsung might provide further protections.

.......

In other words, keys are stored in a cloud that potentially can be hacked. I wouldn't use it as a replacement of a HW of course. May be just for micro payments. Anyway, this is good news in terms of mass adoption. Next step is to be able to buy directly in Google Play or Apple Store with Bitcoins and ETH.

The other day when JJG advocated for glassed on Rocket Racoon it must have planted a subliminal suggestion in my mind... or something.  Anyway, whatever it was manifested itself tonight in the form of an upgrade.

Avatar-sized

 If you like.
It changes the nuance of the avatar a bit.. kind of tones down the flamboyant and causes a kind of more technically nerdy... ...
O.k... sure... I will try it out for a while... and see if it feels comfortable.  Thanks, xhomer.
What a thoroughly graceless response.
Just you wait till Thursday.

edit i see you went banging on about it a bit further on.
still, grace-less

You go girl!!!!!

^ If you can afford a $1K phone you sure can store on it $1K. If the cloud was hacked you would probably be compensated. It would be shitshow not only for Samsung but for us. That being said, the wallet probably has additional encryption layers so even if you get access to the backup you still can't access the plaintext of it. And even if they don't have that right now (remember they are innovating here) that's something that could be added later.

I would not store my whole stash there. Same as I wouldn't go to the bank withdraw all my fiat and carry it on my pocket wallet.

I don't see any problem in storing any amount between $50 to $1K, depending on your needs. Maybe even way more if you are fucking rich. Just an amount you could afford to lose without jumping off a bridge.

It's great news no matter what. An amazing milestone for mainstream adoption.

I don't see any problem in storing any amount between $50 to $1K, depending on your needs.

If you aren't going to store big amounts, it doesn't make sense to make a crypto enabled phone in the first place.

If you aren't going to store more than a thousand dollars, an Iphone or a random Android phone with "green address" app just do the same thing already.

Anyway, this is a good advertisement for both samsung and crypto and any attention we get is good. That's how I look at it.

You can make a feature request for apple products here. I just asked them to please get with the times and add a bitcoin wallet or my next phone won't be an Iphone. Wink

No, really, I appreciate they being innovators at including that feature for mainstream adoption. Every *Android* user that can afford to get one, should.
I don't know: I remember spending .3btc on a bunch of towels.

As for Apple, why would I ever trust anything to a closed source system like that?

Yeah, ok, but .3 then is not the same as .3 now Smiley

About the second question.... because the ball (and responsibility), would be in their field instead of mine for once.

Anyway, my preference for iOS as a smartphone OS doesn't make me not appreciate the innovation Samsung is doing there. My kudos to them.

INB4 JP Morgan asks for it....

Fortunately it wouldn't be the "trust chain" if it would be passed to them.

Samsung's thing looks kind of neat. Probably won't hold up to an ion mill, but that's a level of attack most people can't launch. Hm....
