Majority of bitcoin trading is a hoax, new study finds
Ninety five percent of spot bitcoin trading volume is faked by unregulated exchanges, according to a study from Bitwise this week.
The firm analyzed the top 81 crypto exchanges by volume on industry site CoinMarketCap.com. They report an aggregated $6 billion in average daily bitcoin volume. The study finds that only $273 million of that is legitimate.
“People looked at cryptocurrency and said this market is a mess, that’s because they were looking at data that was manipulated,” says Matthew Hougan, global head of research at Bitwise.

They have discovered the gunpowder. Roll Eyes
lol
Well well well trust cnbc to pick up on that sort of fuddy old news when the real fomo news is right there. WSJ did a similar piece. That study is

As part of 226 slides presented to the SEC on our ETF filing, we did a first-of-its-kind analysis of *order book data* from all 81 exchanges reporting >$1M in BTC volume on CMC. https://www.sec.gov/comments/sr-nysearca-2019-01/srnysearca201901-5164833-183434.pdf

Yes Bitwise making their case to some idiot fiat gang about their ETF.
Work continues on the bull...

Yes, the amount of trash published by the media is incredible and the worst is who provides the data. Wink

You are missing an important point: there will be no distribution, until the Coinlab lawsuit will be sorted out, at least in the first Court.
The reason is that the Coinlab claim, of about 16 billion $, is so (ridiculously) large that it's impossible to fairly attribute voting rights.
Until then, Kobayashi may decide (he did not promise to withhold from selling) to sell more BTC and BCH, if the Court will approve.

Since last time sold almost at top we should not expect any selling in next 2 years since they obviously know what they are doing.

You know?  Kobayashi san has proven to be a pretty sharp motherfucker in retrospect.

Um, no... Kobayashi would like to sell all soon, but there was strong objection from the creditors present at the meeting.
Anyway, since the forks other than BCH won't be distributed, they will be 100% sold, probably by auctioning the keys.

BCH includes both Bcash ABC and Bcash SV?  Both of those will continue to be held by the trustee, for now?

Good morning Bitcoinland.

The battle for $4k continues... currently $4009USD/$5378CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

How much longer before we win this fight and start properly moving up again?
____

Finally getting my work finished up. All materials have been acquired, the block and concrete electrical meter structure at the property line has been completed and the new 240V/120A 12-breaker panel installed.

The electrician is busy wiring them together and I've started measuring while my buddy has started cutting material for my newly secured windows and fire escape. My new ensuite crapper is working like a charm.

As usual, all my infrastructure improvements are getting completed at the 11th hour. Been here almost all winter and it's all just getting done now. Mexican time. LOL  Cheesy

I'm booked to fly up to Toronto on Tuesday. The vernal equinox is in the books and winter is officially over. Let the baseball season begin.

Bitcoin Futures Volume Is More Significant Than You Think, Bitwise Says

The bitcoin futures market is far larger, relative to the spot market, than previously thought, says Bitwise Asset Management.

The last report (20th March 2019) says nothing about the 2 rival forks of BCH. But my understanding is that Kobayashi is afraid to be the custodian
of so much crypto for much longer (he may have been a target for hackers), so he personally wants to dump all crypto, if the Court will allow this.

theymos should ban all crypto-media, exchanges and Wall St outsiders and we'd be forced to meet irl and exchange goods and news like normal people in the good old fashioned days (of yore).

I'd be very sad if I had something of that magnitude living in my y fronts. It would constantly be getting caught in doorways and drains and the idea of it splashing around in the bottom of the toilet bowl is beyond unspeakable.

I'll stick with my tiddler.
