I'd like to see a survey on the subject. I wonder how many people think the bullran has already started?

The bull season started on 19 January 2019.  It just takes awhile for the news to get out.
Wow, that's a hell of a late news release.

I love the smell of rocket fuel in the morning. This launch feels really fucking solid.

It's perfectly possible. I mean... I didn't know that's not the case in USA, but in other countries that's exactly how it works. You are taxed annually for any assets value above a certain exempt limit (ie: around the first million total net worth in the case of Spain).

how in the hell?

is the government then on the hook if I have unrealized losses?

Another industry insider said there were 6 million trades over an hour during the price rise, mostly concentrated on Asia-based exchanges. This is three to four times the usual trading volume. He said:

“You trigger other order books to play catch up, and that creates a buying frenzy.”

Quote
However, not everyone seems to be overwhelmed. Crypto analyst Nic Trades warned her 93,000 followers on Twitter to watch for signs that the recent surge is a false breakout.

She says a 50% drop from the height of the swing across the major exchanges is the key number to watch.

“If we come back more than 50% of this swing, that’s where I would be concerned and would say that this is probably a false breakout… I would be a little bit less bullish if we close back underneath the 200-day moving average line. A daily close under $4,714 wouldn’t be quite so positive.”

Quote
Brian Kelly, founder and CEO of digital currency investment firm BKCM said:

“Sentiment has shifted here. All indications that we have — whether it be fundamentals, technicals, the quantitative analysis we do — all suggest that we probably have at least started to put in the bottoming process.”

Kelly, also pointed out that Bitcoin’s past trading cycles have looked “very similar” to its current pattern.

Investments would be taxed on a yearly basis (proposal)?

Bitcoin might help, since it is not a security, but personal property and/or commodity (depending on where you live).
Perhaps that 100mil fella was just an early bird?

Love the rally, hate the fact that two forks are up much more. This is bizarre.
Is there something to worry about here?

No.

Welcome to the Wall.

Many of those metrics are included in my report in signature. As I stated there not all of them are meaningful.

The only one I do care about is the hash rate: The network is now almost 6x more secure.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Hanging in over $5k I see... currently $5030USD/$6702CAD (Bitcionaverage).

Another leg up this week would be nice, nothing spectacular like a couple of days ago, just up a couple of hundred with a correction of a hundred or so. Rinse and repeat.

Go Bitcoin go.
