[~snip]I mean Elwar and his wife should go to a major Western country and not go to a smaller Asian country. They should honestly just to back the US.
Have you heard from Elwar ? Did they get to the embassy?

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

We'll prolly know soon enough. In other note, why the heck the government intervened in the first place? Is seasteading seen as a danger or smth?

I would think the Philippines should be a considered destination afa close by possible safe havens if an embassy is not an option.

I wonder what our Philippine friends think of that?

He'd have better luck getting into Vietnam or Cambodia.

I think Cambodia has one of the most liberal refugee policies in the world if I'm not mistaken.

The Philippines has taken a turn away from the U.S. and toward China in the past few years, but if he somehow made it here I'm sure the government wouldn't extradite him back to Thailand. Geographically its harder to get to than the other two options.

Man, this is a shitty story all the way around, hope he makes it out OK, of course (and his girlfriend too -- it sounds like she would get even worse treatment if caught).

I'm not too sure about the other two countries, but I do know he can probably come to the Philippines, even if he is still a fugitive, and live peacefully there. There are so many foreigners living and retiring here.

He might do well in Thailand too, but since they're looking for him, that's not a wise decision to remain in the country.

As BoB would put it - SHEEEIT!

I knew a blacklist was coming. I'm surprised the hunters made it public. Well, it was just obvious anyway - or it could be to make a statement. The worst problem isn't immigration ATM, but emigration if you get my drift.

Damn it.

Deeper shit. At least it seems they've not been apprehended yet.

Last thing a government like that is worried about is scaring an old lady and a child. They could even be used as leverage in the unlikely event Thailand wants to get to the bottom of the matter rather than, as I think, just send a message.

I don't think they're on a plane to safe lands yet. Getting out of that banana kingdom will take some ingenuity. At least, as someone said, Elwar is a clever MF, so hopefully with a bit of luck they might make it - and stay far from Thailand until the next revolution.

The bitcoin charts now look like a chart from a trader textbook, the chart looks exactly like a Bump-and-Run Reversal Bottoms

$BTC. Literally a textbook BARR bottom. Hint: This means bears are fucked.

Genuine question -

If the value of one bitcoin became astronomically high one day & there was a state or island somewhere that was strictly bitcoin only as a monetary transfer of value would you emigrate to there?

It’s something I’ve long thought about & I most certainly would to be honest. It’d be great to live amongst like minded people.

It would have prices like Switzerland. IOW, living amongst like minded people is likely to cost an arm and a leg  Cheesy

Depends on many things but the answer is probably yeah, obviously.

They need to have a fair climate and a working infrastructure. But I guess an accepting state would have that with astronomically high BTC prices Smiley

Read about Elwar earlier today. Literally didn't feel well throughout the day and remained absent-minded). May he and the girl with him remain safe and get out of this mess ASAP.

Take their boat across the water to Malaysia and run down the coast of Indonesia to Australia.

Probably the best idea.

Wasn't Elwar advertising the seastead thing quite aggressively? I thought he had all figured out with the government officials.. and it looked like Thailand was giving him a thumbs up.

Hrm, he did look like smarter than an average person in the videos and I did not see much craziness in there, maybe just next level commitment.

Still, I hope he is well and will get this shit sorted out, having Thai officials chase you can't be too pleasant.

People are a large herd, most of us need someone to lead us or there would be just plain chaos. Hence we need states (and maybe slavery, to keep things in balance).

90% of the people have shades on and whatever you do or say, you can't (won't) convince them.

In fact I guess he believed the place was out of Thai jurisdiction - in international waters. And he also mentioned Thai authorities were not interfering but he never discussed his plans with any local authority.
