Why is Greenland not green on that map? It belongs to Denmark, danish monetary rules apply.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

A US man and his partner could face the death penalty after they were accused of building a "sea home" off Thailand.

Chad Elwartowski has gone into hiding with his girlfriend, Supranee Thepdet, after the navy said they had threatened the country's sovereignty.

Their home, which sits atop a 20m (65ft) platform, is located around 12 miles (19km) off the coast of Phuket.

But Mr Elwartowski insists it is 13 miles from the shore and therefore outside of Thailand's jurisdiction.

"The navy and its team... found a concrete tank floating on the sea but there was no-one on it," police colonel Nikorn Somsuk told AFP news agency.

He added that the navy would meet local officials "to consider what to do next". The navy said the couple had failed to seek permission from Thailand before constructing the home.

If the couple are found guilty of violating Thailand's sovereignty they could face life in prison and even the death penalty.

Bloomberg: Bakkt May Seek License from NY Regulators to Let Bitcoin Go Mainstream

Bloomberg reports that in order to overcome the resistance of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Intercontinental Exchange, Inc (ICE) intends to seek a license from the financial regulators in New York to get the Bakkt project finally going.

The major problem the regulator names here is the issue of storing customers’ assets and avoiding hacks along with possible market manipulation.
ICE considers solving the issue by getting licensed by NY financial regulators. They can officially allow Bakkt to set up its own custodial service for customers and store their digital coins for them.

Thinking about Elwar and Nadia's position. One thing we know about most of SE Asia (Thailand included) is that many problems can be paid to go away somewhat unofficially.  Elwar didn't hide the fact that he was an early adopter in BTC also Bangkok Post stated
Quote
"Mr Elwartowski was rich from bitcoin trading".

There's a fair chance of corruption in any case here. Turning themselves in receives the greatest chance of this, less likely if the US embassy gets involved first. I don't think the death sentence threat is really on the table but if they run and get caught I guess we'll find out or the extortion gets larger.

Here's hoping he doesn't get extorted, jumps the fence, and comes back to tell a wild James Bond-(Bonnie and Clyde) escape story purely for my entertainment!
But really, I hope it becomes clear soon for them.

Gambling with ones life is as high stakes as it gets and would you really take a chance on that countries ruler to not kill to set an example?

Alot depends on what the US official stance is on this.

The canadians are not good people.

Also I note from the map above that crypto is legal in the part of the world that is heading towards cultural and financial suicide. What do we make of this?

These two graphics are the ones that I will publish at the end of each month, with the history in the quote.

This is an example of the complete 2018 chart so you can see how it looks with the included trend line.

Question:

Do you think that when we have all the data we should have a thread for the WO statistics, or do we just publish it here?
