You make a good point Lambie

Maybe I should run as a politician on a platform of tax cuts based on reductions in defense spending and removing fossil fuel subsidies.

It could be called the “Peace Dividend”.

Yes please.  Smiley

Yang/Hairy 2020 perhaps?

New ATH around 2023, 2024, just at long term log charts have been predicting. Time between peaks increasing as marketcap increases.

Yup and most likely Evan Duffield coin will have 90% coinmarketcap dominance, the same amount of master nodes he own Smiley   Stupidity just never stop at some group of people.

Good morning all

Just a few charts for perspective.

Last day of trading for the month and a local bottom was felt at around $7,714.70 imho. October looms on the horizon with hidden shoals and strong currents. Should be a fairly active month for volume as positions continue to be placed for the coming year.

Yeah, wepork=office rental. Big fucking deal.

I think it's the stats they gather about the work that takes place in their spaces that excites investors, or did. Makes sense as it's probably a very underserved area compared to everyone's porno habits.

I'm amazed all these unicorns have lasted as long as they have. I really thought they'd all be toast years ago. A lot of plate spinning has taken place.

Ref: Adam and the WO thread:  JJG was largely right.  Adam left and set up an alt thread on another forum due to a disagreement with the overall policy during the blocksize debate.

For some time there was no mod at all and Theymos locked the thread.  There was an ultimatum that the thread would only be opened again (in its same form) if there was a new mod.

There were candidates who were prepared to volunteer and a bunch of us sorted out an election to get someone in - which resulted in infofront being given the poisoned chalice.  I was in touch with Theymos at the time and he really didn't want the thread to go, he just needed someone to take it on.

I don't think there is wholesale animosity towards Adam.  Personally I think he did create the whole atmosphere in the first place, and think he is due some credit.  However, infofront has general support and I am not sure many would even want the job - while all of us want 'someone' to do it.

TLDRL
Infofront's role is entirely legitimate - no ifs, not buts.   Adam's credit is due, yes - but he did turn his back on this place, so while some of us remember him fondly, the 'it's Adam's thread' point is moot.

Good summary of the situation. Though Fatman, having been absent for a while, is understandably not up to date on the matter. And he/she has a point. No slight against infofront, who is doing yeoman's work in moderation, but adam should be properly attributed for history's sake.

I would not object if he was credited and I don't disagree.  My trigger was that I don't think infofront deserves a trashing, or that the thread has gone to hell.

Edit: And I forgot 'thank you'

WO Gentlemen,

Sorry for my OT-rant, but I hope that's ok.

I'm sitting here in a hotel room somewhere in Bangkok with FOX News as the only english speaking channel. That's why I browse here instead.

Reading the last few pages I realise Greta has gotten quite a bit of attention. While I don't agree with her, I do agree we have to stop with all this plastic madness. The other day I was at the beach, and I couldn't even see my toes in the waist-high water -- that's fucked up. As another reference , I bought a coffee, a sandwich, and a yoghurt at 7-11 this morning, and got a plastic bag for each item I bought.

My girlfriend was bored and I needed some alone time to finish an article on quantum computing and bitcoin, so I let her go to the videoke by herself. She had less than 300 pesos ($6), she left four hours ago, and probably won't be back for another four hours. I don't know how she makes the money last for so long. Yeah I know what you're thinking, and indeed she might get free drinks from other guys, if there are any, and if they have 100 pesos to spare for a beer... I dunno, its unlikely...

As far as the QC/BTC thing is concerned, we'll know its around and aimed at bitcoin when wallets start magically getting hacked in similar fashions. The earliest guesstimate as to when the technology may be ready is 2 years, longest is 10 years. When it will be commercially viable may be much longer than that. But it won't be a problem if bitcoin undergoes some kind of quantum resistance upgrade before then.

In short, its not a concern.

Wondering what the hell my GF is doing is a greater concern.

WO Gentlemen,

Sorry for my OT-rant, but I hope that's ok.

Hey thats OK I do the same thing. Most of us, if not all, do. I for one specialize in it.

Yeah the amount of disposable plastic here in the Philippines is absurd as well. Individually-wrapped everything because people can only afford to buy tiny bits of things at a time. For example, you don't buy a box of laundry detergent, or a bottle of shampoo. You buy little plastic pouches of it for a fraction of the price instead. Try telling people to change their consumption habits when they can't afford a whole bottle of shampoo, though. Not likely to happen.

Videoke could be paid as per song (maybe 1 peso to 5 pesos each), or as a fixed time interval, like 30 to 50 pesos per hour. I'm not sure what the rate is, you'll have to ask her.

A long time ago, there was a video game called Dance Dance Revolution, and on weekends in the arcade I go to, you could play for 2 pesos per song (or per level), so 50 to 100 lasted a few hours. And all the kids were doing these dance steps and taking turns.

I like to think that in the not too distant future people will be repulsed by the idea of any monetary transaction that can't be tracked publicly online. Old timers will be "back in my day we used bits of paper and only revenue agents had the tools to track it!", "ok gramps, have a cookie"

I've been in there. Its a machine that is 5 per song. Sometimes we do the whole KTV thing where you rent your own room per hour, which is nice, but I also enjoy the local videokes. Some of them are quite charming and fun, even if the CR is pretty filthy.

They're still popular! Though now they only accept tokens, which are usually about 5 pesos.

My GF was born in a particularly poor part of Mindanao, was pulled out of school to work on a farm in Grade 3 and really missed out on a lot of things as a child. So, sometimes we go to the arcade in the mall, and they usually have at least 1 version of the DDR game, and its almost always occupied.

She really loves collecting those tickets that you get from winning the mechanical "skill" games, even though we never do anything with them. I do get to hold them and carry them around with us as we travel, for eternity, though.

Yes, I did get Into the water, but I got out the same minute I realise how dirty it was.

there's the thing: Even if you expose your skin to sea water only for some minutes, it starts changing the microbiotic flora. Many infectional health problems could be avoided if you shower immediately after a stay in the sea. Getting out and drying isn't enough. You may be lucky many times but infections like these can get you in serious trouble.
Just my two cents.
