Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

You guys better just tone it down a bit with your discussion points.  You are starting to sound way too smart for these here parts.  I would suggest throwing in a meme or some random pic of something like a naked chick/or guy (for bob) climbing a rock formation. Embarrassed  (Alternatively, ad hominem attacks tend to play pretty well, too)

Ok here you go .  Cheesy

Nice & perky... too small for my liking though  Cool

I'm guessing you might not be old enough for her liking.

Tis a wise woman.

I'd be all over that as well if it was not for the knife...an obvious ploy to get to my BTC Private Keys. Well played! Smiley

Premier league returns on May 9 (for training)...and LFC would have it's well deserved title (95-99% chance) when the season concludes by July 31.
Champions League (the rest of the matches) will be played in August.
Football world would go crazy!

I created a private key and deliberately deleted the first character.

I will have to wait until quantum computing reaches the insane amount of calculations it would require to figure out what my private key is. I hope I am still alive by then.

I mist be misunderstanding you. AFAICT, depending on character set (e.g. base58), as long as you have the rest of the key, you'll have your funds in no more than 58 tries. Actually, given the embedded ECC, you can probably get it on the first try.

Aaaah. _first_ character. You was trollin'

I think he was mocking the guy who said earlier that his friend permanently erased a seed word. Which would take like 5 seconds to bruteforce

Hi WO!!! Countdown to Bitcoin Halving!

Quote
The crypto-bulls also project that demand for BTC is likely to be much higher today than in 2016 based on the fact that the traded volume for BTC has been growing steadily since 2018.  In Dec 2017, when BTC was trading at its peak of USD $20k the highest traded volume was 16 billion (Figure 3). In Feb 2020, the highest traded volume of BTC was 81 billion (Data and Graph from CoinGecko).  Using traded volume as a proxy for demand, this translates to a four fold increase in demand for BTC.

Source: https://www.bitorb.com/bitcoin-halving-countdown/

The impact of the Covid-19 has been very devastating in all markets, some investors are still afraid, this often makes the purchase of BTC impossible, however I expect positive returns not to 90 days but thinking of 180 days with the hope that it has ended already the effect of the pandemic.

Major Asian Ticketing Agency Accepts Bitcoin on Lightning Network

Quote
Vietnamese online ticketing agency Future.Travel now accepts Bitcoin (BTC) payments via the Lightning Network (LN), with funds being converted into local currency at the time of sale.

To enable LN-based Bitcoin payments, Future.Travel collaborated with Canada-based tech firm Neutronpay, which will provide Future.Travel its multi-currency merchant platform, according to an April 20 announcement. With the newly integrated option, the BTC transaction processing time will ostensibly be cut down to three to four seconds in most cases.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/major-asian-ticketing-agency-accepts-bitcoin-on-lightning-network
The future.travel owner is a Western guy.  I met him in Saigon in 2015 at a Bitcoin meetup, and again last year.
Seeing your post made me look for his business card, but I can't find it.

The State Bank of Vietnam has declared that the issuance, supply and use of bitcoin and other similar virtual currency is illegal as a mean of payment and subject to punishment ranging from 150 million to 200 million VND
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory#Vietnam
Whenever I see news that a bank has declared bitcoins illegal, it makes me wonder how banks seem to be passing laws now.

Sounds reasonable. When you make a mistake, you make up for it. They caused us, the entire rest of the world, financial losses. Their mistake, theirs to fix.

The issue is not even with their inability to pay. It's that they won't even try, won't even admit they did anything wrong. They are blaming everyone other than themselves.

They are a negative influence on the entire human species. There is nothing good about them. If they will not at least make up for their mistakes, or deliberate attacks as the case may be, then it does not benefit us to allow them to live.

Who -- exactly -- is the they to which you refer? Do you put forth the notion that over a billion people are individually culpable, and each and every man, woman, and child must be eradicated to avenge your outrage?
It's not about me.
Right, it's about... drum roll, please... THEM

I suppose I could try the dang thing again after the last Windows 10 1909

upgrade. I will let you know. I also forgot this is a top-end Alienware laptop 1.5 years old, was cutting edge at the time..so it is not that far gone yet.

Whatever I'll try it with the recent Windows 10 1909 upgrade...other than that I may be sh*t out of luck on this machine. Just thought it odd as hell.

Funny the most recent big update suddenly my onboard wireless has sprung into life. It was unrecognised by win10 all this time.

i5 laptop similarly not SO old.

The St. Georges Day Service which was to be held today in [Placename] Abbey, like everything else, has obviously been cancelled.

Is this culinary skills or merely passing away the time

And when its is all over

Hank you Bernard Ho**** for this one.

Keep safe, keep smiling.

Fun fact, the England Flag is actually the flag of the italian City of Genoa

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genoa#Flag

Quote
There is some debate as to whether the flag of England derives from the flag of Genoa. While some historians point to a lack of evidence,[19] others say that the English adopted the flag on their ships in 1190 in order to benefit from the protection of the Genoese fleet. [20]

A few years ago the italian mayor of the city wrote to the Qeen asking for arrears payments.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jul/05/england-owes-arrears-over-st-georges-cross-claims-genoa-mayor

I think as an answer the Queen sent a pair of crusader just outside the port of Genoa and the situation was suddenly settled. (could have looked like Anglo-Zanzibar war, part 2)
