Indeed, we just might. Grin

My fellow Grammar Nazis, STFU.  It is intended to be a meta-pun—and I have always wanted to use her in the dative!  Also, I believe that it is correct insofar as μετᾰ has a sense governing the dative, which perfectly conveys my intended meaning.  If I be mistaken, would any pedants care to correct me?

It didn't feel quite right, so I had to consult my HI, and it cast out this:

Quote
The preposition μετά governs genitive and accusative, not dative. So your pun would work, if you wrote μετά Φρύνης.
If your priority is Φρύνη in the dative, you may forget μετά and write instead ἐν Φρύνῃ, making an ἐν-pun.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Here I am in the Wall Observer thread in November 2020, when for the first time in quite a while, it seems there's some significant Walls to Observe.

Lots of folks wanting to cash in now that we're near ATHs again it seems ^_^

Completely understandable. People that bought near the top of the last rally are finally in the green again, so they might be looking to get off the roller-coaster.

My ex wife bought near the ATH a few years ago due to FOMO.  I'm sure she has long since forgot about her coins.  I've been contemplating if I should tell her to check (resulting in instant selling) or do her a favor and not mention anything to her...

Where that fear and greed update??

Hahahahaha

Fuck that shit.

Remember last week, or was it a couple of weeks ago, there were quite a few folks in here vociferously proclaiming that a correction was imminent based on such fear/greed index showing "too greedy"  blah blah blah..

ATH and then a good correction, rebuilding base.

Pump to $25,000, then a correction to $20,000 would be preferable  Tongue

my opinion ? i think 20k $ is a nightmare to traders now , ibitcoin gonna spend days before it  break  with the enough volume , maybe this altcoins turn for a bullrun .

Makes sense. ETHBTC looks like bottoming out so the BTC train may indeed spill over to the alts, much to the chagrin of the Maximalists.

25k to 30k = July 2019 price of 13k for a miner's profits

Just saying we are not there yet.  To me we correct in the 25k to 30x range Jan-feb 2021

78k = dec 2017 price of 19.9k for a miner's profits

and at least pass 50k in fall of 2021.

Less than $1k to a new ATH!!
HODL!

What is your number for the 2017 high?
I saw 20008 on one exchange back then. But I can't seem to find that info.
I can find 19700 and 19800

ATH was different on different exchanges. Any ATH under $20k will do close to no hype in media. The moment they will write about $20k+ things will change drastically.

Check out HEX ya moron, was just 3 days of work for free. You think you can do that?

Ignored.

https://twitter.com/MyLegacyKit/status/1329727586000379904

Sure Hex.. collapsing.. after making Richard Hart rich as fuck... and likely he will need to hide from the regulators... I would think that his way of going about that scam would not have been anything but criminal.. .. just seemed so obvious the way that he was pumping that bullshit with ongoing read between the lines type assertions that likely tempted all kinds of innocent peeps into helping Richard to receive his various paydays while carrying out such scam.

19K this weekend
AT fucking H this weekend!  Cool

Seems inevitable now... within this close... maybe our break above $18.5k today and pushing up to $18,825 within the past couple of hours demonstrates that buying pressures remain greater than selling pressures.. and it is going to be a bit difficult for bearwhales to fight off the current short-term momentum...   not impossible, but surely would take quite a bit of fuel to stop this baby at these price points and this current ongoing momentum..

Sure we seem to be coiling at the moment in the $18,500s (as I type).. and sure there might be some downward fakeouts (or downward attempts) but gotta consider ongoing current momentum, too...

Popcorn, anyone?

let's go back to the year 2015. January of that year. bitcoin had been falling falling falling, nothing but falling ever since peak of 2013. a peak that I did not sell. it wasn't "fuck you -I am retiring" amounts of fiat worth that my btc stash was worth on that peak, but it surely was more money than I had ever dreamed of possessing. yeah, saw it all dwindle. like water you try to hold in your hand. I got seriously invested in 2013 and all I saw in that year were fucking immense fiat gains. evaporating fiat gains all through 2014. hired a manager for my business. he demanded me to invest some cash into the business and I thought he was right, I should invest in my business. 2014 had left me disillusioned. in January 2015 bitstamp got hacked and since I was on the brink of selling I had lots of btc on that exchange in that moment.
whooosh - all gone. like another mtgox. I freaked out completely. in the back of my mind I thought that bitstamp would somehow not end up like mtgox 2.0, but that was just a feeling.  I had to reconsider my attitude towards bitcoin. it dawned on me that it was just a speculative pipe dream I was curating here. fuck this shit. I own a real life business that made me decent money and I also liked the work. why the fuck was I chasing some weird "get filthy rich" scheme when I had a decade long business that worked quite well? I almost gave up. almost. decided that if bitstamp would recover I would sell 100 btc and put into my rl business. bitstamp did recover, got all coins back.

so I did. sold in February 2015. got €20k and invested that in the business. posting this so noobs can learn and not do the same mistake. never sell your precious corn. that was $1.8 mio mistake, currently. if you sell 10btc during next dip it will be the same in a few years. if you sell 1 btc during the next bear, it will be the same in a few more years. hold on to the holy corn.

We give no fucks about whatever might happen to be the highest price on the highest exchange and bullshit like that.  You can look at the Korean exchanges and the Zimbabwe exchanges and find $30k prices back in December 2017.. and you can also look at exchanges that are out of balance with other exchanges because of their various margin trading and other games (or potentially strategically placed games) that they play (or might play).

We use Bitstamp in these here parts in order to attempt to stick to solid numbers and to have a common reference point for dee peeps so we do not get too distracted by exchange arbitrage and all that bullshit potential fuckery (unless and until evidence is presented to show some more reliable overall reference numbers... and the burden is on the presenter of such claims), especially during hype periods (or potential hype periods).

And, Bitstamp's ATH from December 2017 is $19,666.. That's what we be looking at to verify when that ATH has been breached again.. and ongoingly it is likely to be breached a lot in the coming 12 months and perhaps further out than that, if this uptrend drags out in a relatively longer kind of way....

Less than $1k to a new ATH!!

HODL!

What is your number for the 2017 high?

I can find 19700 and 19800

We are only accepting Bitstamp prices here. The 2017 ATH was $19666, so we've came below $1K, which is around ATH-5%.

that's what I meant to say....    Wink

Less than $1k to a new ATH!!

Despite its lulzy tone, this is a serious post, seeking advice from the Wall’s professional-class GPU expert brain trust.  I am a Unix terminal junkie, who does not play games or mine shitcoins—not a GPU expert!

What the fuck minimal hardware (and electricity budget) is realistically needed for entry-level playing with kitty AI?  Assuming a desire to train one’s own networks...

It depends on your interest level multiplied by your wealth divided by your patience2.

Been away for a bit. Did you sell some around the 16k mark bob?
I remember you were talking about it if btc reached 16k

Cashed out a chunk @ $16,250 USD/BTC.

Rick is retiring early, end of February as a result.

Totally worth it.

For sure. You held through the tough times and deserve the reward. You stuck to a number that you would be happy with and it matters not what btc does after that. GL

"Cashed out a chunk" means "took profit" not no-coiner status.

Nullian coredump, Part 1/2.  h/t johhnyUA for a link to an article dated 12 November 2020.

Red alert:  Imminent plans for a mining pool with transaction blacklisting, based on blockchain analysis and, of course, the Diktat of the American world-police OFAC.

The gist of my intended Part 2/2 has been preëmpted by someone else much more succinctly, in a post that I will leave untranslated so that I can avoid being suddenly ignore-listed by both Jay and CT—and pretty much everybody else on WO, except (ironically) marcus.

Merits to the man who had the moral courage to say this publicly, amidst 🚀🤩🤩🤩🌙🤩🤩🤩🚀:
Пpoблeмкa тoлькo oднa. Tyзeмyн идeт yжe ceйчac, кaк нa фoндe тaк и в кpиптe. Кopoнaвиpycный фoн мoжeт тoлькo пoвлиять нa eгo aмплитyдy и пpoдoлжитeльнocть, a тaк тo этo yжe cвepшившийcя фaкт. Этo кaк c Pимoм - кoгдa кpитичecкaя мacca вapвapoв нaчaлa жить в Pимcкoй Импepии, тo Импepия и пpeвpaтилacь в бaнтycтaн. Ecть дaжe тepмин "вapвapизaция". И в cлyчae кpипты этo бyдeт имeннo чтo вapвapизaция. Taкoe мнe нe нaдo. Лyчшe бит пo 3к  Smiley

Honest and admirable.  Freedom and privacy—principles over greed—and an historical perspective, too.

I have been avoiding this, but I do need to say it publicly sometime.  For the record.

I fear that Bitcoin may be a victim of its own success.  I try to avoid saying this too explicitly in public, so as to avoid FUDding Bitcoin and discouraging the HODLers; but it has been implied in some of my Wall Observer posts in various contexts pertaining to regulation generally (privacy and otherwise).

If we “moon” and get big institutional money onboard, then greed will prevent people from resisting regulatory strangulation of Bitcoin’s freedom—[...]

If I could have Bitcoin keep its freedom and be worth exactly what I bought it for—no more, no less, forever—then I would be much happier than I will be to see my modest stash “moon” as I lose my tiny little sliver of financial freedom.

I think nullius' posts are a category of their own and maybe Serious Discussion > Ivory Tower > Nullius' Dungeon might be a solution to avoid having his posts deleted from the WO in the future. Cool
Thanks.  Quotable. ;-)
