Lesson from owning a cruise ship...there are a lot of people/systems in place built to extort you once you have something of value that you want to keep.

It's ridiculous. Throwing millions here and there just to fend off people from using the force of government to take away our property.

I've been watching the TV show Yellowstone, which has a similar storyline, only with a guy and his ranch.

I was a minimalist just 3 years ago where I only owned about 40 items (including every piece of clothing). It was bliss. No worries.

Of everything I think bitcoin is the easiest thing in the world to actually own that has value.

Though it appears that CSW is trying to join the ranks of those utilizing the force of government to go after that as well. Fuck that faketoshi guy.
It is interesting, isn't it? How many millions did you give those rotters and looters in exchange for "freedom" which turned out to be an illusion? Not trying to be a dick here, but it's an interesting thing to ponder who has the money now and why they have it.

Re-reading Atlas Shrugged every once in a while is an experience. Yes a lot of the writing is crap, but the thought of a solid gold bitcoin logo in the center of a town is..... interesting.....

New development and innovation will be added to the existing Bitcoin network backbone as 2nd-layer add-ons (LN is one such example and there are, and will be, others). Bitcoin is currently a huge decentralized network, the size of which the world has never seen before. It is by far the fastest computational entity currently in existence on earth. This achievement is not easy to replicate. Apart from its vast size, it possesses features no other network of its kind possesses. Bitcoin is decentralized, trustless, immutable, borderless, scalable, super-hardened, super-robust, deflationary, scarce, not owned by any specific entity. It's all of the above and more. All at the same time. These are not blockchain properties, they are Bitcoin properties.

Just as new, innovative internet technologies are added on top of the tried, tested and robust TCP/IP layer, so will new, innovative technologies be added on top of the Bitcoin network backbone. There's no need to reinvent the wheel when the wheel is the optimal strategy. There are 100s of car brands, but their products all use wheels, because anything else is sub-optimal. Bitcoin is the "wheel" of the digital monetary revolution, and it will be used for decades to come. We, as Bitcoin HoDLers, are now tapping on the fundamental building block of a monetary instrument that will shake the foundations of the world's financial and wealth infrastructure. The avalanche has started, it's getting bigger, and it's unstoppable.

If anyone thinks an altcoin can easily replace all of the above, he is deluded. It's just a matter of time. You can either understand the tech, realise its potential and embrace it, or wait until you are forced to do so. It's up to you.
No shitcoin has replaced bitcoin in over ten years.
And no will do that for the rest of our lives.

God I wish people would stop with the shitcoin stuff. Ethereum is a coin in bad faith, has been ever since the DAO "reversal" which showed everyone just what ether really is and what they think about ownership.

You own bitcoin. You don't own ether, they let you have it. For now.

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-whales-grow-after-price-bottoms-analyst-says-coins-are-moving-to-very-strong-holders/

Quote
...According to onchain statistics, bitcoin whales with a balance of more than 1,000 bitcoin are growing and the recent BTC price drop helped bolster the metric. A few days before the drop to the $28k zone, BTC prices were coasting along between $35k to 38k in USD value. The drop to $28,800 per bitcoin on Thursday, was the lowest price drop so far this year. But the dip did not last very long and Glassnode stats show that the number of addresses with more than 1,000 bitcoin has increased significantly...

...“Suddenly there’s a whole bunch of newly minted whales…. holders of 1000BTC / $32m of BTC. I’m seeing more whales coming in on this dip,”...

...Coins are moving off the market to very strong holders, the ones that keep accumulating without selling...

To all HODLers: Cheers!

To all sellers: Sorry!

God I wish people would stop with the shitcoin stuff. Ethereum is a coin in bad faith, has been ever since the DAO "reversal" which showed everyone just what ether really is and what they think about ownership.

You own bitcoin. You don't own ether, they let you have it. For now.

People want to pass up value today for supposed value in the future that may never come.

Case in point, if you hypothetically froze the codebase of every cryptocurrency in existence today and said there would be no more updates to them, ever.

Bitcoin:
The existing codebase has so much almost perfect set of attributes/functionality/security/value as deflationary money and settlement that, frozen in its existing form, could still one day become a world reserve currency. It's that good, even as-is. The devs would never have to touch another line of code and still it shows the amazing value it gives you today and into the future. If no other crypto existed but Bitcoin, the world of the future would be fine. Better than fine, actually.

Shitcoins:

Nope, every single one of them base their current value on "new functionality coming in future", "new promised updates", "future extensions", "coming infrastructure re-platform 2.0/3.0/4.0" etc., etc. Freeze their codebases and their worthlessness would be exposed overnight. And almost all of them are still awkward solutions looking for problems and use cases that either don't exist, or are not really a problem at all. Get rid of them all, and the world wouldn't miss a beat or care. That alone shows you how shallow/flimsy they all are.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Sideways 'r' us... currently $31967USD/$40728CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

The winter (N. hemisphere) doldrums. Blah.

Looks like it could be good food but what horrible presentation.

They could have spread it out to fill the plate, separating the different foods and arranging them by shape and color.

Instead they just dumped it all in a heap in the middle of the plate. So careless, so lazy.

Reminds me of "Nouvelle" cuisine. What a scam that was. Cheaper ingredients, lazier preparation, smaller portions, higher price, no care in presentation. Total ripoff.

Still, despite the presentation, the food looks it's probably delicious.

The Dude must replies..... LoL (not much else to say ....) maybe better to stay with Mexican burrito’s etc   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Psychologists who would compare this message to the writings of the actual Satoshi would say that CSW is definitely *not* Satoshi, because Satoshi never ever wrote narcissistic, delusional statements like this.

Mexican burritos? Some turista junk food made with wheat tortillas? LOL  Is that what you think of Mexican cuisine? Maybe you think spaghetti and meatballs is the ultimate in Italian or consider chop suey to be real Chinese.  Roll Eyes

I wasn't  even commenting on the quality of the food. My issue was the sloppy nouvelle-cuisine-style presentation.

All talk, no substance. Actually filing suits would be CSW's undoing. Can he really afford so many lawsuits, especially in jurisdictions where he's being eagerly awaited for other legal issues? Let him talk all he wants. Bcash is bcash and it's going to zero if we wait long enough.

FTFY

Here's some spam pic of a swan from today's walk to the lake, to sweeten up the sideways range bound (aka. boring) price action:

Manual focus because of autofocus malfunction due to coldness. So not perfect sharpness on the spot, but good enough for this shot.

Interesting classification, albeit the one that is not 'realistic'.

As I posted before, according to the prevalence of whales in the wild, you are a bitcoin "whale" with 75-80 btc and a "blue whale" with above 200, so woonomic's reference is wrong (albeit it is mostly for fun anyway):

File a motion to dismiss, lawsuits with no merit get thrown out easily.

Easy peasy, no coordination needed.

I'm sure CSW already knows this, but his followers don't because they are a special kind of idiot.

Ya'know, it doesn't surprise me at all that cults could form around certain cryptocurrencies, with their originators thought of as messiahs.

In fact, Keith Raniere is in a jail cell somewhere, looking at what CSW is doing, and thinking to himself "Now why didn't I think of that! I could have been rich, but all I got was some tail!"  Grin
