You can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin

BOOM! Well, what rdbase will have to say on this? Elon dumping BTC yeah, right!  Grin
Elon can dump his holdings of btc. All 0.25btc worth. Grin
Tesla is the one who is holding all that $1.5bln worth yet again, keep off the drugs man to get those facts straight like a line, okay? Cheesy

The more important part is the second half of the tweet:

They will be retaining bitcoin they receive and not converting it to dirtay fiat. Wink

Unfortunately, some people who know I have bitcoin seem not to care for my opsec and will happily discuss the fact that I hold btc with anyone they feel like. Which is annoying, since I don't go around talking about anyone else's finances. So I am wondering how to address this issue. It didn't seem to matter many years ago that I had told a few of my friends about my btc holdings but now, at these prices, it's something I wish I hadn't done.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Pretty much everyone...

Yeah, I was discussing this with my gf the other day. She has family members that have told loads of other family members. It’s really irritating, I don’t want to be having to face questions like -

‘So how many bitcoin do you have’
‘What are they all worth’
‘When will you sell’

Mind your own damn business. I don’t ask to see your wages or bank statements, assholes.

Yeah it’s suddenly started for me.  People asking how many I have, including teen kids of friends.  I don’t tell them of course but still.

Annoying. I just went over to Tesla to pick up a used Model S (there are no new ones) and they want this "Credit card" thing.

No clue what's up with that.

Just stay on the payment page and refresh the page or press F5.

I tried its showing, for the first time it didn’t show to me too

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still consolidating in the $5xxxx range... currently $57199USD/$71960CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Time to move on up. Go Bitcoin go.

Historically April #Bitcoin  has been explosive

https://twitter.com/dustinwatchman/status/1374566794254516224?s=21

The chart conveniently omits April 2013 when Bitcoin crashed by over 80% from $266 down under $50.

Sometimes noobs do deserve to be bashed  Grin

Especially when they start blathering on about bullshit like "crypto", ICOs or NFTs.

Should be seeing a payment option with the bitcoin button. Grin

Also there were alot of others who were "speculating" whether Elon was going to sell Tesla's bitcoin since they had already profited $1billion on just HODLing. Wink

I reckon there's probably $50 to $100 million in real fiat deposits backing Tether's $2.5 billion in worthless blockchain tokens that were used to blow the 2017 bitcoin bubble.

We're headed back to $1k folks.

Why do you think that? This is the rich list -

380,670,753   Feb 01 09:37 AM   Huobi
1DUb2YYbQA1jjaNYzVXLZ7ZioEhLXtbUru   329,339,572   Feb 01 09:37 AM   Bittrex
1Co1dhYDeF76DQyEyj4B5JdXF9J7TtfWWE   270,000,000   Dec 21 '17, 06:14 AM   Poloniex
1FoWyxwPXuj4C6abqwhjDWdz6D4PZgYRjA   249,963,861   Feb 01 09:37 AM   Binance
1GjgKbj69hDB7YPQF9KwPEy274jLzBKVLh   200,000,000   Jan 31 06:55 PM
1KYiKJEfdJtap9QX2v9BXJMpz2SfU4pgZw   148,821,592   Feb 01 09:37 AM   Bitfinex
12uhUkxpwkD2LGzKHUywoknoJ3fC9vev1x   82,862,390   Jan 26 09:03 AM   Binance
1ApkXfxWgJ5CBHzrogVSKz23umMZ32wvNA   55,715,971   Feb 01 09:37 AM   OKEx

These exchanges presumably had to buy the tether with real $$ in order to list tether on their exchanges in the first place. Whether the money tether received is still  tucked away or not is anyone's guess but unless tether gave all these exchanges free tether, your $50 - $100 million doesn't make sense.

Hello,

Do you know to which exchange belongs this address? 1GjgKbj69hDB7YPQF9KwPEy274jLzBKVLh and what address is suppose to be in first raw?

Dunno if you’d be liable but I’m almost certain they wouldn’t find out.

It depends on where you live.  In the US?  Yes.  You have to pay the tax.

Which Country?

In Australia you would be, depending on how long you had held that particular UTXO, you could be entitled to 50% Discount on CGT.

Already had this conversion with my accountant, about best way to handle my Bitcoin in relation to Taxation.

Did you know, if i went on holidays to the US and exchange my AUD to USD, didn't spend it all, brought it back home and changed it back to AUD and made a profit Capital Gain on that amount i had brought back, i would be liable for CGT.

UK.

I'm guessing I would have to also.

I will wait until a Model S Plaid+ including VAT and CGT and a high performance whore for the first week of ownership altogether is less than 0.1 BTC

Till then I will keep driving a polluting petrol car.

See you in 2025 Tesla.
