Words of wisdom from Arthur Hayes https://blog.bitmex.com/grow-up-or-blow-up/The difference between a trader and a truly prescient investor is having the courage to let your winners run until you reach the logical conclusion of the investing thesis that prompted the initial investment. That requires not just tactical trading acumen, but a macro belief in a theme or regime that powers the asset’s long term returns.
TL;DR Hodler for a reason. Yea, but coming from the fella who instituted 100X leverage, come on. Remember those annoying Barts? Who was making them happen...it was THAT guy. BTW, he was hastily gotten rid off when the whole thing almost blew up in the March of 2020-what a coincidence. If they did not go offline, it could have happened (cascading liquidations). Agreed: the usual difference between talking the talk and walking the walk. Still an inspiring read though.

Is this news confirmed? That will be huge turn of events for many, because not long back Jack Ma used to say Bitcoin is a bubble... “'Blockchain Is Not a Bubble, But Bitcoin Is,' Says Alibaba's Jack Ma” "Bitcoin is only a small part of blockchain," Ma told the second World Intelligent Congress in Tianjin, North China. DATE: MAY 17 2018/ SOURCE: YICAI https://www.yicaiglobal.com/news/blockchain-is-not-a-bubble-but-bitcoin-is-says-alibaba-jack-maEdit: Looks like no! The source cz added above is translated to something else “Alibaba: We will comprehensively accelerate the research of low-carbon cutting-edge technologies” I have no idea what does it really mean... here’s the link to source https://finance.sina.cn/2021-04-29/detail-ikmxzfmk9630480.d.html?from=wap

Sorry, $20 bil buy is hard to believe.
Possibilities: 1. "Big brain" Ma bought it several years ago and now it is worth $20bil. 30% chance. 2. 20bil: not $, but RMB. 20% chance 3. false info. 45-49% chance 4. it is correct (if it means that they spent $20 bil). 1-5% chance
If they have $20bil worth, the up-down games could be played ad infinitum. in addition, CCP could force Ma to "share" the spoils...or else. Note how his IPO was smashed down.

Bitcoin is going up nicely in the past 24 hours. I'm enjoying the ride. Here, repeat the same story. I should have invested more than my initial plan, I ask myself.

$58.4K Third wave is over!!! If you ask me we have successfully cleared the third waveI wonder if world would also clear the third wave of covid - 19 and we can be back to normal Seriously speaking, seeing bitcoin going all time high does not make us full happy when we turn on the media and see thousands of people dying because of the third covid wave.

Isn’t it getting cold here....? “Whoa... Glassnode reporting a massive withdraw from exchanges totaling 11,504 #BTC ($667M) earlier today. This is the largest transfer seen on-chain in 3 weeks. Who could it possibly be this time?“ https://twitter.com/wclementeiii/status/1388299021299687435?s=21

Thanks. Interesting listen so far. Have never understood the "end of the world but I have gold" argument, certainly not against Bitcoin. If there is a massive cyber attack, you are struggling for food if supermarkets are empty, barbarians roam and run the streets, internet and telephone lines are unavailable, there is no postal service etc Seriously what would be the point in comforting your loved ones in saying: "It's ok my darlings, I have dozens of bars of gold stored away in some random vault in Switzerland. We'll be fine. Just need to figure out a way to get ahold of them. I might try pigeons." Would it help?

From the YouTube comments: "Michael was talking about Bitcoin, Frank was talking about Michael." Will be fun watching this debate 5 years from now... That's a good one. Frank: "Gold performs really well during periods of high inflation, the last time we had that was in the 1970s." Sounds great Frank, I need to possibly wait longer than the time I have spent on earth so far to see a potential investment in gold do well. Sign me up!
